Job description

Make an impact behind the events that bring people together.

American Baptist Churches USA (ABCUSA) is seeking a Travel & Conference Planning Specialist to lead the planning and execution of meetings, conferences, and special eventsโ€”from venue selection and contract negotiations through registration, logistics, financial coordination, and on-site execution.

This is a hands-on role with real ownership and visibility. Youโ€™ll build relationships with hotels, convention centers, vendors, travel partners, and organizational stakeholders while managing multiple events and projects from concept to completion.

Youโ€™ll also play a key role in planning the ABCUSA Biennial Mission Summit, one of the organizationโ€™s signature gatherings, including registration operations, site inspections, vendor and venue coordination, and on-site event support.

The ideal candidate is an experienced event professional who thrives on bringing complex details together, creating exceptional experiences, and making people feel well cared for throughout the process. Youโ€™re someone who anticipates needs, solves problems before they become problems, communicates with confidence and professionalism, and knows how to navigate competing priorities while keeping relationships strong.

You bring customer-service savvy, sound judgment, strong negotiation skills, and a genuine commitment to making every interactionโ€”and every eventโ€”a positive experience for participants, partners, vendors, and stakeholders.

If youโ€™re energized by event strategy, logistics, relationship-building, and seeing a complex event come together successfully, weโ€™d love to hear from you!
