Athletic Trainer for 2026-2027
To provide medical attention and first aid care to students who participate in athletic activities. Responsible for assessing injuries,
evaluating for concussion & return to play protocols, protective taping/bandaging, and contacting and consulting with first responders when needed.
Location: Primarily located at Weld Central High School, Keenesburg, CO. Also supports middle school athletics at Weld Central Middle School, Keenesburg, CO and Lochbuie Intermediate Academy, Lochbuie, CO
Job Qualifications:
  • Must have a flexible schedule to accommodate athletic schedules, including all home events, all varsity events and tournaments
  • Athletic Trainer Certification and/or emergency response training
  • First Aid/CPR certifications
  • Formal training on proper usage of bandage and brace techniques
  • Complete CHSAA training and able to adhere to concussion/injury protocols
  • Desire to increase knowledge of athletic training through individual research and completion of camps/clinics
  • Must be able to speak, read, and understand English
  • Must have the ability to relate well with children,other district staff, and community members
  • Adhere to district policies and the strategic plan

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or related field required
  • CPR/First Aid Certified required
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable

Terms of Employment:
  • Must be available for all varsity games, tournaments and camps, and all home athletic events
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, after school, and evenings required
  • Availability for other school functions as required by the District
  • 20-40 hours per week depending on activity schedule
  • Travel may be required for away games and events
  • Must complete fingerprint based background check upon hire

Salary:
  • Salary is 60% of the base (BA/1) amount listed on the Licensed Salary Schedule, $31,965.00 for 2026-2027. Salary is prorated based on actual start date.
  • Work schedule is typically August-May, based on the district calendar
