Job description

THIS POSITION QUALIFIES FOR THE FOLLOWING SHIFT PREMIUMS IN ADDITION TO THE STANDARD WAGE LISTED ABOVE.

Premium Info:

•             A PM premium of $2.00/hr ($3.00 OT) will be added to an employee’s base rate for hours worked between 3PM and 11PM.

•             A NOC premium of $3.00/hr ($4.50 OT) will be added to an employee’s base rate for hours worked between 11PM and 7AM. 

•             A weekend premium of $3.00/hr ($4.50 OT) will be added to an employee’s base rate for hours worked between Friday 5PM and Monday 7:59AM. 

•             It is possible to receive a PM/NOC premium on top of a weekend premium when working eligible shifts

Position Snapshot:

Part-Time, 16 hours per weekend

3rd Shift  11pm - 7:30am

Job Summary:

Maintains safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor premises and personnel by patrolling campus
  • Monitoring surveillance equipment as necessary
  • Prevents losses and damages by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policy and procedures
  • Reports any facility issues as needed
  • Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities, including but not limited to interviewing witnesses
  • Maintains organizations stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.

Skills/Qualifications:              

  • Ability to read, write, and interpret the English language.
  • Knowledge of basic fire protection and security systems preferred (but will train)
  • Skills in both verbal and written communication preferred.
  • Skills in observing situations and decision making a plus.
  • Skill in dealing courteously with public a plus.
  • Ability to diffuse situations when possible by verbal communication
  • Basic knowledge of relevant building policies and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of laws, legal codes, and government regulations.

Education and Experience:

  • High school education minimum or equivalent GED
  • Prior security guard experience preferred
