Director, Concessions

The Director, Concessions is a hands-on leadership position supporting food & beverage operations for the Fresno Grizzlies. This individual will play a key role in executing concessions operations at the club level while developing the skills and experience necessary to step into a future F&B leadership role within the DBH portfolio. This position is embedded within the Fresno operation and will contribute directly to day-to-day concessions execution, team development, and overall fan experience. While the role carries a Director title, it is designed as a high-impact development opportunity, with the expectation that the individual will grow into a full concessions leadership role as opportunities arise across DBH-operated clubs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Game Day & Event Operations
    • Support and execute all aspects of concessions operations during games and events, including staffing, setup, service, and breakdown
    • Act as a visible, hands-on leader during events to ensure smooth, efficient operations
    • Troubleshoot operational challenges in real time to maintain service standards and guest satisfaction
  • Operational Support & Execution
    • Partner with club leadership to support overall concessions performance, including staffing plans, inventory, and service execution
    • Assist in maintaining high standards for food quality, cleanliness, safety, and presentation
    • Help identify operational gaps and implement solutions to improve efficiency and consistency
  • Staffing, Training & Development
    • Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training concessions staff and supervisors
    • Provide day-to-day coaching and feedback to part-time and full-time team members
    • Support the development of strong frontline leadership within the concessions operation
  • Business & Financial Exposure
    • Gain experience in key business functions including labor management, cost control, and revenue optimization
    • Assist in tracking performance and identifying opportunities for growth and improvement
    • Support implementation of promotions, menu updates, and operational initiatives
Leadership Development

This role is part of DBH's broader effort to build a strong pipeline of food & beverage leaders. The Director, Concessions will:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of concessions operations within a high-volume sports environment
  • Build leadership and management capabilities through hands-on experience
  • Gain exposure to DBH standards and operational expectations
  • Be considered for future Director, F&B or equivalent leadership roles within the DBH portfolio as positions become available
Qualifications
  • Must be willing to relocate to Fresno, CA
  • 36+ years of experience in food & beverage, hospitality, or venue operations
  • Prior supervisory or management experience required
  • Experience in high-volume environments (sports, entertainment, hospitality, or similar) preferred
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on execution and guest experience
  • Excellent communication skills and a hands-on, team-first leadership style
  • Desire to grow into a senior leadership role within a multi-unit organization
  • Willingness to relocate in the future for advancement opportunities
