Job description

POSITION: Concessions Stand Associate
STATUS: Part-Time/Non-Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Food amp; Beverage
REPORTS TO: Concessions Manager
POSITION CONCEPT:
The Concessions Stand Associate is responsible for preparing concession menu items utilizing cooking equipment in a fast-paced environment. The Concessions Stand Associate must adhere to high food quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction. Portion control, food waste, and sanitation are additional areas that this position must be aware of while operating in the concession stand. This position will work at all three venues, including Ruth Eckerd Hall, Bilheimer Capitol Theatre, and The BayCare Sound.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Responsible for setting up the concession stand with chips, candy, and soda and setting up the condiment station.
• Responsible for operating large-volume cooking equipment for popcorn, pizza, pretzels, etc.
• Responsible for cooking and packaging food products that are prepared to order or kept warm until sold.
• Complete the opening and closing checklists at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Follows cash handling procedures throughout the shift.
• Correctly operates all concession equipment, maintains the cleanliness of all food handling areas, and follows food-handling procedures.
• Responsible for maintaining quality and production standards on all menu items.
• Responsible for portion control and serving temperatures of all products served in the concession stand.
• Responsible for cleaning, stocking, and restocking workstations and displays.
• Ensures that all work areas and equipment are clean, food products are properly stored, utensils are clean and put away, and the floor is swept and mopped at the end of the shift.
• Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas according to local health codes.
• Performs related work as required.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of experience working in a food handling position is required.
• One-year customer service experience.
DEMONSTRATED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
• Working knowledge of POS system and all equipment in the concessions area.
• Ability to speak, read and write in English.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
• Possess valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for periods-of-time.
• Ability to work outdoors in various climates.
• Ability to work long and irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• The ability to maintain good attendance is a condition of employment and a function of this position.
OTHER:
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Successful completion of a background check and drug screen.
