Concession Stand Worker

Location: Philadelphia, PA, 19129

Position: Concession Stand Worker

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour

Reports To: Concessions Supervisor / Concession Manager

Employment Status: Hourly

Position Summary

The Concession Stand Worker provides food preparation, cashier, stocking, cleaning, and customer-service support for PYB concession operations. Stand Workers are scheduled according to attendance and event demand.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Greet customers and provide friendly, efficient service.
  • Take customer orders accurately.
  • Operate the POS system and process cash and electronic payments.
  • Prepare and serve approved concession menu items.
  • Follow established recipes, portions, and presentation standards.
  • Maintain appropriate food temperatures and food-safety procedures.
  • Restock food, beverages, condiments, utensils, packaging, and supplies.
  • Maintain clean counters, equipment, refrigerators, preparation areas, and customer-service areas.
  • Wash and sanitize equipment and food-contact surfaces.
  • Follow proper handwashing, glove-use, and sanitation procedures.
  • Rotate products using proper FIFO procedures.
  • Check product dates and notify management of expired or damaged products.
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries when assigned.
  • Communicate low inventory or product shortages to the Supervisor or Manager.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures.
  • Remove trash and maintain clean work areas.
  • Follow instructions provided by the Concessions Supervisor or Concession Manager.
  • Provide additional support during tournaments and high-volume events.
Scheduling Expectations
  • Stand Worker staffing is based primarily on PYB attendance and business demand.
  • Stand Workers are generally scheduled at approximately 1 worker per 75 attendees, up to the established maximum staffing level.
  • Weekday Stand Worker shifts generally begin at 2:00 PM or later.
  • Scheduled shifts should generally be at least 4 hours.
  • Stand Workers should not work unauthorized overtime.
  • A Supervisor or Concession Manager must provide appropriate leadership coverage whenever Stand Workers are operating.
Qualifications
  • Food service, concessions, restaurant, retail, or customer-service experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to follow food-safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as scheduled.
Hiring is contingent on the completion of a successful background check clearance and I-9 verification.
