Job description

The Administrative Assistant will help facilitate and coordinate various projects and weekly tasks for the Department. The position plays a key administrative role in helping the Ministry Department provide a great experience for the congregation of Summit Church. The Administrative Assistant will play a major part in meeting timelines in both weekly and long-range goals. The primary role of this position requires a high level of organizational and communication skills. The Administrative Assistant will maintain a positive, solution-minded attitude with the ability to offer problem-solving solutions. The Administrative Assistant will work under the direct supervision of the Department Director and in harmony with other staff members and ministry team leaders in fulfilling the church’s purpose and vision to “Connect people with God and others!” Responsibilities: • Volunteer Scheduling • Service Planning Administration • Team Communication • Database Upkeep for Planning Center (Related to our teams) • Front Line Point of Contact for the Ministry • Recruiting Volunteers for weekend services • Recruiting Volunteers for Special Events • Volunteer Retention • Logistics for special events and projects • Support on weekends and special events • Front Desk support when needed • Purchasing and tracking invoices as related to Department needs • Preparation of weekly notes on the Bible App This is a full-time role. Typical work hours are Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, and Sundays from 6:30 AM–12:30 PM. Days and hours can vary based on the following: • Special Events • Special Projects • Occasional mid-week evening support This job operates in a professional office environment, regularly subject to noise at the level of a concert venue. Regularly subject to bright flashing lights at the level of a concert venue. Qualifications: Competencies: • Thoroughness with close attention to detail • Time Management • Multitasking • Highly Organized Required Education and Experience: • Must have a strong personal faith in Jesus Christ • High school diploma or GED diploma • Must have the aptitude to learn a Mac-based computer environment • Must have the aptitude to learn a Windows-based computer environment, and to communicate professionally via email • Must have an aptitude for learning computer applications/software such as: • Planning Center (to include all applications from this developer) • Purchasing Mgt. (cloud-based purchasing management) • “The Bible” (Life Church Platform) Events Platform • ProPresenter • Winplus Prompter(by Autoscript) • Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision • Must pass a background check • Analytical Skills Required: must look at a large amount of information and prioritize tasks based on time constraints and order of importance while following a schedule • Communication Skills Required: must be able to clearly communicate in terms both verbal and in writing, administration-related updates when requested • Must adhere to the employee handbook, including the 8 Principles of Good Relationships, and sign a lifestyle and culture agreement Preferred Education and Experience • Experience working in a professional office environment is desired • Experience working for or with a non-profit organization is desired Compensation: $15 - $17 hourly
