Position Description
IT Service Desk Analyst
Summary
The Business Systems Analyst role provides and supports the design, implementation, documentation, and operation of the critical Corval Group business applications.This role will work closely with the Director of IT, the Departmental Leadership, and the Company Leadership to ensure that the critical business applications are effective, documented, and maintained to ensure the highest levels of productivity, availability, and reliability.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Represent the Business Technology Department and collaborate with Business Leaders on the functionality and usability of critical business applications, including Viewpoint Vista ERP, Trimble Field Service, Procore, ToolWatch, and Power BI Reporting tools.
  • Provide reporting advice and expertise for tools accessing Microsoft SQL databases, including MS Excel and MS Power BI.
  • Create end-user and technical support documentation for critical business applications.
  • Provide proactive End User training.
  • Work with Department Leaders to develop critical reports and enable self-service reporting whenever possible.
  • Partner with critical vendors to ensure optimal configuration and usability of critical applications.
  • Evaluate and recommend application functional patches and system upgrades, and partner with Business Technology team members and Vendors as they deploy them.
  • Monitor application use to ensure optimal performance.
  • Partner with the Service Desk to create and maintain application users and permissions.
  • Test the release of product updates to minimize user impact and ensure compatibility.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
  • Fundamental knowledge of ERP systems and their uses within an organization
  • Proven business systems analysis, process operations analysis, and application performance analysis skills
  • Familiarity with MS Power BI / MS Fabric tools
  • Experience with MS SQL reporting tools and reporting best practices
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and JavaScript
  • Ability to provide hands-on training and end-user support
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Strong interpersonal skills to assist non-technical individuals with complex technical issues

Experience, Education & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 5+ years experience in a Business Systems Analyst role
  • 5+ years experience with MS SQL
  • 5+ years experience with MS Excel and/or MS Power BI
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and MS Fabric preferred
  • Experience with Vista by Viewpoint a plus

Working Conditions
  • Office environment - extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work flexible hours when needed for system upgrades, maintenance or repair.
  • Ability to work onsite at St. Paul, MN office
