Classification Title:

Adjunct - Computer Science Instructor (Pool)

Department:

Computer Technology

Physical Demands: 

Able to traverse campus, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, bending, vision, hearing, and talking.

Job Summary/Basic Function:

Adjunct Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity on an as needed basis. These positions are filled prior to or during each semester and are contingent upon the needs of the College.

Brazosport College accepts application materials for pool positions on a continuing basis throughout the year from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis.

Academic departments will contact potential applicants when there are available openings.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Reports to the Dean, Business, Technology, and Online Program
  • Teaches Computer Science classes using traditional and alternative delivery methods

College benefits do not accrue with this part-time position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an Master’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or a master’s degree with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate hours in Computer Science from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Demonstrated ability in working with culturally diverse populations
  • Interest in alternative instructional delivery methods
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one’s value to the institution
  • Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration as long as Southern Association (SACS) minimum educational credentials are met
