The Oglethorpe University Computer Science Program is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach one section of an Introductory Programming lecture course during the Fall 2026 semester. The lecture sections enroll no more than 22 students so the learning environment is ideal for one-on-one faculty-student interactions and for implementing innovative pedagogical strategies. Successful applicants must be interested in progressive, student-centered models of instruction. Applicants will be expected to foster an inclusive learning environment by engaging in and promoting diverse teaching, learning, and mentoring communities. Adjunct faculty will receive mentorship and support from full-time faculty teaching the associated one-credit lab.Â
The course meets 9:15-10:15am MWF. The semester runs August 24th to December 11th (including final exams). Final grades for the semester are due on Thursday, December 15th. Qualifications:
M.S. in Computer Science or related field – we will consider applicants with at least 18 credits of graduate study and a strong teaching background. Those with a Ph.D. and those who are ABD (all but dissertation) are encouraged to apply as well.
Compensation:
Compensation will be determined based on the number of credit hours taught.
$3300/lecture course (4 credit hours)
