Job description

Position:                           Motion Graphics Intern

Department:                      Media Administration

Reporting Relationship:  Reports to Senior Producer - Motion Graphics

Status:                              Internship (Non-Exempt)

Position Summary

The Motion Graphics Intern will support the Creative Services team in shaping visual storytelling for Tepper Sports & Entertainment (Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC). This role offers hands-on experience assisting with motion design across digital, social, in-stadium, and branded content, working alongside senior designers on real deliverables in a fast-paced sports environment.

Working within the Creative Services department, this internship is ideal for an emerging motion designer eager to build real-world experience, sharpen technical skills, and gain exposure to brand-level creative work under the mentorship of experienced team members.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support the motion graphics team in creating content for Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC, helping maintain brand standards and creative direction
  • Assist with concepting, designing, and animating motion assets, including:
  • Social and digital content
  • In-stadium video elements (Video Board & Ribbon boards)
  • Brand campaign and sponsor deliverable support
  • Collaborate with producers, designers, editors, and creative leadership on visual storytelling and creative toolkits
  • Provide support to internal departments as needed
  • Help maintain motion graphics templates, systems, and visual style guidelines
  • Assist on multiple projects at once, learning to manage quick turnarounds and tight deadlines

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in Motion Design, Animation, Graphic Design, or a related field
  • Working proficiency in After Effects & Adobe Creative Suite
  • Foundational understanding of typography, layout, timing, and animation principles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in designing for sports, entertainment, or high-energy branded environments
  • Familiarity with in-game presentations or unique creative specs
  • Basic 3D knowledge (Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar) a plus
  • Awareness of current motion design trends
