Natureโ€™s Specialties, part of Nexus Brands Group's Pet Group, is a leader in the pet grooming industry that manufactures a variety of products for professional groomers including shampoos, conditioners, and other coat care products. We are seeking a hard-working, detail-oriented, self-starter to add to our production team.

Position Overview

The Compounding Supervisor will oversee and manage all batching functions and supervise team members within this area, while managing workloads to align with overall production goals. They also operate and maintain compounding equipment such as large mixing kettles and work with team members to provide training and support.

What youโ€™ll be doing

  • Work within a fast-paced environment to maintain daily production output.
  • Supervise, coach and counsel team members as supported by upper management and HR.
  • Provide training and development for team members.
  • Create/conduct annual reviews while maintaining records in accordance with confidentiality requirements.
  • Review batch specifications for finished products and identify, gather and weigh all necessary raw chemicals required to make various products.
  • Accurately identify over 200 different chemical names and their respective abbreviations.
  • Properly wash empty drums, as needed to prep for re-fill.
  • Perform clean up duties following each batch process.
  • Clean batching kettles between product batches.
  • Safely lift and maneuver drums at full capacity using dollies and pallet jacks.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in safety training and contribute to a safe working environment.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents to your supervisor immediately.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to your supervisor.
  • Ensure equipment is always operated safely and properly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow workplace safety policies and guidelines.
  • Any other duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Companyโ€™s Values.

Is this role for you?

Required Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Satisfactory results of a background check
  • Minimum of 2 years relatable supervisory experience.
  • Ability to show up and be on time for scheduled shifts
  • Must have experience with forklift and electric pallet jack
  • Must have experience in shampoo or liquid compounding

Job Environment, Requirements & Schedule

  • Environment: This role requires working in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment where there is exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.

Working Hours: Must be willing and able to adhere to the work schedule:

  • Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Some overtime hours may be required
  • Punctuality and reliability for scheduled shifts are essential and required

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
