A typical day for a Composer can involve brainstorming musical ideas, drafting and revising scores, and collaborating with directors, musicians, or producers to refine a composition. You may spend time recording demos, attending rehearsals, or using music software to orchestrate and arrange pieces. Deadlines are common, especially when working on projects for film, television, advertising, or live performances. Most Composers divide their time between solitary creative work and meetings or feedback sessions with collaborators, making adaptability and strong organizational skills essential for success in this role.
To thrive as a Composer, you need strong music theory knowledge, creativity, and proficiency in musical instrumentation, often supported by a degree in music composition or a related field. Familiarity with digital audio workstations (DAWs), notation software like Sibelius or Finale, and audio editing tools is commonly expected. Excellent communication, time management, and collaboration skills help composers work effectively with clients, performers, and production teams. These competencies ensure the Composer can produce high-quality, original music that meets both artistic and professional standards in various settings.
A Composer creates original music for various media, including films, television, video games, theater, and concerts. They write melodies, harmonies, and arrangements, often using digital software or live instrumentation. Composers may work independently or collaborate with directors, producers, and musicians to achieve a specific artistic vision. Their responsibilities can also include scoring, orchestration, and revising pieces based on feedback.

The Cloud Engineering team builds the foundation that every engineering team at Sagent runs on. We design and deliver internal platforms and products that make shipping to production fast, secure, and repeatable.
Our team builds and operates shared infrastructure capabilities including a self-service Internal Developer Portal, a centralized CI/CD platform, reusable infrastructure modules, and policy-as-code enforcement that enables teams to move quickly without sacrificing safety.
We are seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support both infrastructure and application development teams working on a large-scale, event-driven microservices platform running on GKE. This role bridges platform engineering and application support: you will maintain and evolve GCP and Kubernetes infrastructure while partnering directly with development teams to unblock delivery, troubleshoot production issues, and continuously improve the paved road from code to production.
What You'll DoYou are someone who thrives at the intersection of infrastructure and application support. You understand that a platform is only as good as the experience it provides to the teams building on it, and you are energized by helping development teams ship reliably and quickly.
You hold a high bar for reliability, security, and operational hygiene - you proactively identify and resolve issues before they become incidents. You are comfortable operating at scale in a complex microservices environment and can context-switch between Terraform modules, Kubernetes troubleshooting, Kafka consumer lag, and pipeline failures.
You value automation, documentation, and simplicity. You are pragmatic about technical debt and know when to fix it versus when to ship. You are comfortable working on a team of senior engineers, contributing your perspective, and adjusting quickly as you gain new information.
