Job description

As a Low Voltage Component Engineer, you'll use your technical expertise to wholistically drive complex problems to completion. You'll work amongst the team to scope work, plan requirements, identify risks, estimate budgets, and clearly communicate ongoing progress. You'll work side by side with engineers on a daily basis; your technical expertise, insight and know-how will drive the team forward.

What you'll be able to do:

  • Execute the end-to-end release actions for various electronic components within the Product Lifecycle Management system (3DX)
  • Drive engineering teams towards containment and resolution of issues raised from design reviews, virtual builds, and build events to protect the program's schedule to start of production (SOP) and ongoing production
  • Manage open issues list for internal and external projects, driving team to close items on time and at a high level of quality.
  • Maintain supplier relationships in collaboration with Supply Chain team to ensure timely deliveries for build events
  • Support key decisions working cross-functionally across engineering, finance, and strategy to reach the right conclusions
  • Effectively present information to technical or non-technical audiences ranging from team level meetings through to Executive briefs and updates
  • Anticipate and manage platform risks, perform trade-offs and identify contingency plan(s) or alternate approaches to mitigate risks and provide strong leadership to team in circumstances where there may be uncertainty or ambiguity
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, technicians, and suppliers to design, procure and build physical test assets.

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering setting involving complex systems development
  • Detailed knowledge of product development process from design, development, validation and integration
  • Proven experience driving progress on multiple projects across multiple locations and timelines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Expertise with Jira and Confluence for project management
  • Experience with JAMA for requirements documentation
  • Experience with project management tools such as Smartsheet or MS Project
  • Experience designing and releasing mechanical and electromechanical systems
  • CAD proficiency in assembly and part design, FEA, and 2D drawings. Catia and 3D Experience preferred

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's degree in engineering or business administration
  • Experience in leading product development from concept to deployment
  • Experience launching a product from concept through production, preferably in automotive
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team
  • A systems approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement
  • An ability to craft clear, compelling recommendations supported by strong analysis and business logic, and articulate them to the organization to gain support for recommendations.

Salary Range: $120,000-$145,000/K
