About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate Strategy, the Principal Market Intelligence Manager will be responsible for synthesizing global market trends, competitor shifts, and working with the team to design and execute key initiatives that help drive growth for Ellucian and define the company's long-term strategy. 

Responsibilities include

  • Win/loss analysis and recommendations for internal changes as a result
  • Individual deal support to ensure our team is positioned competitively relative to the other bidders we expect
  • Driving usage and understanding of market intelligence content in collaboration with the enablement team, and enhancing the value of the tooling that houses the information
  • Supporting the corporate development team in competitive intelligence for M&A

Where you will make an impact

  • Analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative information, identifying implications and observing patterns, making correct inferences, drawing conclusions, explaining facts, data, or information to evaluate competitors' products/services, strategic direction, and core competencies utilizing a wide variety of resources.
  • Collaborate and partner with global sales, sales enablement, product, marketing and corporate Strategy to provide relevant and actionable competitive intelligence.
  • Works collaboratively to conduct data-driven research on the Ellucian's key competitors.
  • Monitor public sources for relevant news on key competitors.
  • Manages research/competitive intelligence programs as projects with tracking on key deliverables, milestones, and issue/risk management.
  • Drives operational processes to disseminate information to business stakeholders.
  • Collaborates to establish program-based action plans to address the most critical competitive threats and market opportunities.
  • Drives global win-loss process, analysis, and tracking for entire solution portfolio.
  • Drive insights through competitive and market analyses such as SWOT analysis, relative growth charting, competitor profiles, and evaluation of environmental factors
  • Provide and present actionable information that will help Ellucian differentiate our value to customers and prospects.
  • Support strategic initiatives that directly drive revenue expansion and company growth.
  • Lead and support strategic assessments of adjacent markets, including identification of whitespace opportunities and potential expansion vectors
  • Support due diligence efforts for potential transactions, including market validation, customer segmentation, and competitive positioning analysis
  • Attend industry conferences and events as needed

What you will bring

  • Strong analytical skills
  • 5+ years of experience in a Strategy, Research, Data Analyst or Consulting Role analyzing competitor and market intelligence.
  • Experience synthesizing large amounts of information into actionable intelligence in a clear and concise format.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting competitive benchmarking analyses.
  • Professional and mature approach with the ability to comfortably interact with all levels including Senior Management
  • Excellent program/project management skills with ability to drive complex strategic and operational initiatives concurrently.
  • Self-starter that can work independently to manage own workload with minimal supervision and well as effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Precision PowerPoint development required, with high attention to detail and format.
