Reports to: SVP, Solar Operations

ROLE OVERVIEW

Pivot Energy is seeking an energetic, seasoned leader to support the build-out and management of our Operations and Maintenance (O&M) department. Reporting to the SVP of Solar Operations, you will take full ownership of asset operations, process development, and team building. This role is pivotal in shaping the operating cadence for a rapidly scaling portfolio of distributed solar and integrated storage (BESS) assets, ensuring high availability and optimized financial performance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • BESS & Solar Performance: Provide technical expertise in preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize uptime and round-trip efficiency for hundreds of solar and storage assets.
  • Lifecycle Asset Management: Oversee the portfolio from through the asset operating lifecycle, utilizing robust operating plans and budgets to drive output.
  • Data Strategy & Systems: Drive the development of "best-in-industry" data and software tools to accommodate a scaling asset base. You will ensure data integrity across operating portfolio analytics and collaborate in the enhancement/integration of advanced monitoring platforms.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with Construction Management, Engineering, and Finance to ensure a seamless "handshake" as assets move from construction into operations.
  • Service & Infrastructure: Build and manage a scalable system and oversee external service providers for both planned and unplanned service activities.
  • Contract & Vendor Management: Negotiate high-value O&M contracts and manage RMA processes for faulty components, including critical BESS hardware.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strengthen relationships with landowners, contractors, and internal asset management teams.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
  • Experience: 8+ years in solar/storage O&M or asset management.
  • Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of BESS technologies, solar equipment, and system design.
  • Data Expertise: Proficient in solar and storage monitoring (DAS) platforms (e.g., AlsoEnergy, SolarEdge) with the ability to interpret complex system drawings.
  • Financial Acumen: Demonstrated experience in budgeting, contract negotiation, and financial performance optimization.
  • Leadership: An "ownership mentality" regarding issue identification and resolution, with a proven track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Communication: Exceptional relationship-building skills with a customer-service mindset for both internal and external stakeholders.
PREFERRED COMPETENCIES
  • Engineering Background: Experience with PVsyst, Helioscope, or storage modeling software.
$145,000 - $185,000 a year
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The estimated base salary range for this position is $145,000 - $185,000 depending on relevant experience, along with eligibility for the company's substantial bonus plan, with a target bonus of 30% of annual salary (prorated in first year based on start date).
