Job description

LIHI Community Outreach VISTA
Our LIHI Community Outreach VISTA project enhances financial security, housing, and health for disadvantaged people, benefiting hundreds. The VISTA member will build LIHI's capacity to address critical and multifaceted community needs by focusing on enhancing access to resources for underserved populations in the Puget Sound area. The VISTA member will alleviate poverty by strengthening systems for community engagement, outreach, and partnerships as well as improving resource awareness through the reduction of educational disparities, increased access to better food and nutrition, and fostering economic empowerment. In collaboration with the communications committee, the VISTA will increase community engagement by building sustainable communication systems and tools for social media and electronic news, in addition to assisting with streamlining the planning process. The VISTA will also develop and implement materials that uplift the voices of clients and staff through storytelling. Creating systems to engage staff and Community Advisory Committees (CAC) consisting of neighbors and partners nearest to a tiny house village to build upon resource coordination tools.
Member Duties : Create an outreach workflow for curating, creating, and scheduling materials across platforms. Build a sustainable structure of existing tools to support sending out electronic news, which are essential for sharing relevant information regarding press releases, community meetings, and grand openings. Build a "how to guide" to serve as a structure for the communications committee informing the creation and scheduling of press releases. Engagement planning with Communication Advisory Committees to support recruitment and foster relationships with community partners. Develop a process to engage staff and community to collect resources across the organization to increase resource coordination. Increase community awareness through system development of slide decks, electronic news, press releases, community notices, informational one pagers in order to communicate relevant information with community partners.
