About the Role

The Field Engineer intern is responsible for providing assistance to more senior staff (Senior Project Engineer, Project Managers and Superintendents) in the coordination, scheduling, quantity surveying, reporting, and quality control functions of a project. This is a task-based role that requires working knowledge of core elements of construction projects (field management, estimating, project management). 

As a Field Engineer intern at Graham, you will:

  • Perform a variety of duties including but not limited to administrative duties, update schedules and budgets, maintain cost control, and monitor labor material and equipment activities on the project
  • Work with Project Managers/on-site Superintendent to update project schedule and budget to identify potential construction issues
  • Attend all project team meetings, and document team meetings, action items, and other pertinent project deliverables/decisions
  • Monitor project change management process, identify change events, submit change notices, track changes and optional changes in project scope, and present to the Project Manager when required
  • Assist with drawings, drawing records, revisions, site instructions and change orders
  • Support Project Manager and Superintendent with creating templates and supporting documents on behalf of project team regarding roles and responsibilities
  • Record change orders and update site drawings
  • Monitor payroll functions, cost accruals and reviews on a regular basis
  • Maintain QA/QC and Safety records
  • Review the Field Surveillance Reports (FSR) and initiate NCRs based on analysis and severity of findings

Qualifications & Experience:

  • In progress Trade Certification or Technical Diploma/Degree in Engineering or related field experience is required.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Proficient using scheduling and project management software
