Deaf Teen Ministry Intern

Central Ohio Youth for Christ is seeking a passionate and mission-minded Deaf Teen Ministry Intern to serve alongside our Deaf Teen Quest team. This internship is designed for individuals who desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of Deaf and Hard of Hearing youth while growing personally, spiritually, and professionally in ministry leadership.

As a Deaf Teen Ministry Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in relational youth ministry, holistic community development, and team leadership while receiving mentorship and training from experienced ministry leaders.


Position Summary

The Deaf Teen Ministry Intern will assist in building Christ-centered relationships with Deaf and Hard of Hearing teens through consistent engagement, ministry programming, mentorship, and outreach efforts. This role supports the mission of Central Ohio Youth for Christ by helping young people develop authentic relationships with Jesus and their community.


Key ResponsibilitiesRelational Ministry amp; Student Engagement
  • Build Christ-centered relationships with Deaf and Hard of Hearing teens
  • Engage students through consistent encouragement, mentorship, and support
  • Assist in leading weekly ministry programs, outreach activities, and events
  • Support student participation and engagement opportunities
Ministry Support amp; Leadership Development
  • Assist in recruiting students, volunteers, and ministry leaders
  • Help facilitate team meetings, ministry activities, and special events
  • Support ministry organization through attendance tracking, communication, and data entry
  • Participate in staff meetings, ministry trainings, and fundraising events
Spiritual Growth amp; Ministry Formation
  • Grow as a minister of the Gospel through prayer, devotion, and sharing your faith
  • Support the mission, values, and ministry philosophy of Youth for Christ
  • Participate in mentorship and leadership development opportunities

Qualifications
  • A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a desire to live out and share the Gospel
  • Passion for serving Deaf and Hard of Hearing youth
  • Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Teachable, dependable, and willing to grow in ministry and leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Previous youth ministry or volunteer experience is a plus, but not required
