Communications & Engagement Specialist, Mid
The Opportunity:
Key to an organization's growth is strong stakeholder communication that represents and supports its mission, values, and objectives. As a mid-level communications professional, you know how to inform and engage key audiences and help promote an organization's desired reputation. We're looking for an energetic communications specialist like you, who is ready to grow and willing to win for the client and live our mission every day. Here, you'll advance your consulting skills to design, develop, produce, and consult on a variety of internal communication materials and media that supports national security mission objectives.
As a communications specialist on our team, you'll closely impact the development of creative solutions to complex problems. Your self-guided yet collaborative spirit will shape and nurture relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients as you develop and implement communications strategies that inform, educate, and inspire the client's workforce, reinforce core values, and convey information about critical client initiatives.
As a collaborator on all aspects of verbal and written communications, you will perform a variety of duties, including creating and implementing communications plans to gain employee buy-in of client initiatives, drafting and editing internal and enterprise-wide news and information to inform the client's workforce such as regular newsletters, announcements, leadership messages, and articles, developing and managing content for the client's website such as event notices, articles, and leadership messages, and creating collateral content, as needed. You will also be responsible, with your team, for coordinating, publicizing, and running periodic events such as All Hands or town hall meetings to highlight programs and initiatives of importance to the client and its workforce.
Work with us as we design, develop, and produce world-class communications to inspire, effect change, and strengthen our client's mission. This position is located in McLean, VA.

You Have:
  • 3+ years of experience working in a professional environment, including internships
  • Experience with writing and editing
  • Experience with multiple content types, including translating technical content for non-technical audiences
  • Experience planning and implementing employee events such as All Hands meetings
  • Knowledge of grammar and style guides
  • Ability to interact professionally with senior-level clients, including making recommendations to advance their vision
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience working in a professional environment, including internships
  • Experience creating communications strategies
  • Experience supporting tech-focused teams
  • Knowledge of website content management systems such as WordPress and Joomla
  • Master's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $55,200.00 to $126,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
