As a Senior Product Associate in JP Morgan Payments, you contribute to the team by leveraging your expertise in product development and optimization to make a significant impact, supported by user research and customer feedback to fuel the creation of innovative products and continuously improve existing offerings. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and play a crucial role in shaping the future of our products and ongoing success.
Job responsibilities
  • Partner with a team of Technical Writers focused on payment product documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, software engineers, and subject matter experts, to gather information and understand documentation requirements.
  • Participate in product development meetings to gain a deep understanding of new features and enhancements.
  • Analyze and interpret complex technical information and present it in a clear and concise manner for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Create, format, and maintain complex technical documentation, applying advanced features including styles, templates, cross-references, table of contents generation, and section management.
  • Curate documentation in adherence to team style guides, templates, and standards to ensure consistency and quality across all technical documents.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and edits of documentation to ensure accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
  • Support all controls and compliance requirements and ensure that all pre- and post-launch conditions are met to release documentation on time.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for improving current content and develop innovative methods for improvement.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in technical writing, accessibility, and documentation.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 3+ years of experience writing complete and complex technical content.
  • Superb written communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat Pro, including creation and management of complex documents, templates, styles, and accessibility compliance.
  • Experience creating WCAG 2.x accessible documentation for public-facing developer, technical, or enterprise content.
  • Firm understanding of SDLC/PDLC (systems/product development lifecycle).
  • Understand user experience and content optimization principles across channels.
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in working with engineers to improve user experience, refine content, and create visuals for technical support content.
  • Ability to read and interpret YAML, JSON and Markdown.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously after prioritizing the tasks.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in journalism, communications, or relevant technical field.
  • Previous experience in finance or payments.
  • Previous experience in using authoring tools to create documentation.
  • Previous experience in software development.
  • Previous experience with new product launches and/or transformations of mission-critical platforms.
