Peace of Mind Technologies (POM), is currently searching for a qualified, enthusiastic, hard-working and driven A/V Systems Project Engineer that embodies POM core values to join our Company.

You are driven and skilled at providing effective engineering and implementation of end to end execution for A/V system integration scope of works, including Design Review, Build, Quality Assurance, System Programming and Client Training for timely delivery and handover to the Client.

Specializing in high-tech systems, cloud-based software services and audio/video solutions for thousands of businesses, schools and properties in the greater New York Metropolitan area, POM's diverse client roster comprises a wide range of prestigious and well-known organizations. Founded in 2002, POM has handled more than 2,000 site installations, primarily focused on large offices, retail, hospitality, health care, education, and real estate (commercial, luxury residential and hi-rise).


Roles & Responsibilities:


Provide A/V engineering and design support services to Project Managers to ensure the timely delivery of scope of work.


  • Responsible for the implementation and commissioning of A/V systems (UC, VTC, signage, distributed audio, video wall processing) with functionality in mind for the end-user experience.
  • Following the lead of the assigned Project Manager, be responsible for the effective delivery of resources, scheduling, procurement, and implementation of complete systems.
  • Conduct routine site surveys and audits of premises and systems, identifying and quantifying shortcomings, make recommendations on resolution of issues.
  • Provide written reports, test procedures etc., and conduct field testing on new and existing systems and be responsible for commissioning of the complete scope of work.
  • Configure installations from the A/V design (from RFP or internal) in accordance with relevant statutes and codes and to do so in accordance with industry best practice; as well as work with control programmers to obtain new or existing Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) for future servicing and troubleshooting (programming knowledge a plus).
  • Occasionally assist pre-sale design and estimating in Bill of Materials formulation (as an engineering backstop).
  • Commission A/V systems to satisfy all quality requirements and aid in support of hand-off to the A/V Service team.


Desired Skills and Experience


  • 5 years + experience in installing, programming, training in A/V Systems.
  • Experience in the system design and implementation of A/V solutions and techniques.
  • Ability to read and design signal flows.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint. AutoCad and Visio is a +
  • Willingness and ability to work flexibly and diligently as befits an important role within a fast growing division.
  • High level of self motivation and an ability to work with a high level of initiative.
  • Strong team player who can communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work effectively in high pressure situations.
