As Senior Product Manager you are responsible for the end-to-end strategic and commercial management of a designated product portfolio within a regulated consumer packaged goods (CPG) chemical and/or equipment environment. You will own and connect portfolio strategy, lifecycle management, commercialization, profitability, market competitiveness, and cross-functional execution to drive sustainable growth and regulatory compliance.

You will act as the commercial business owner for assigned product categories, balancing and considering customer needs, regulatory requirements, operational capabilities, and financial performance. This includes collaborating closely and building strong partnerships with R&D and Innovation, Regulatory, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams to develop and execute category growth strategies across existing and new markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute 3-5 year strategic product portfolio roadmaps and strategies that are informed by deep understanding of the competitive landscape, while considering customer needs and market dynamics, with clear differentiation and value propositions
  • Identify portfolio gaps, whitespace opportunities, adjacencies, and rationalization opportunities
  • Lead category and SKU optimization initiatives to improve profitability, simplify complexity, and align with market demand
  • Evaluate and connect insights from market trends, competitive activity, customer insights, and industry changes to inform strategic direction
  • Manage product lifecycle from concept through commercialization, maturity, reformulation, and discontinuation
  • Act as collaborative gate-keeper to the stage-gates process, ensuring timely progression through all development stages while maintaining focus on key decision points
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) during the product rollout phase, providing support and guidance as needed
  • Own portfolio revenue, margin, profitability and market share performance
  • Lead cross-functional commercialization activities for new product launches and product changes
  • Translate customer and market needs into product requirements and commercial opportunities
  • Partner with Innovation and R&D teams to prioritize development pipelines
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to gather VOC (Voice of Customer) and market feedback and translate insights into actionable portfolio and commercialization strategies
  • Participate in risk assessments related to formulation, packaging, claims, and market expansion
  • Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives relate

Qualifications/requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline (MBA preferred)
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Product Management, Brand Management, Category Management, or Commercial Leadership within:
  • CPG / consumer goods, Specialty chemicals, Industrial chemicals or regulated manufacturing
  • Experience managing regulated product portfolios
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management and commercialization processes
  • Demonstrated business acumen, with a deep understanding of P&L management
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in matrix organizations
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience in B2B and/or B2B2C commercial environments
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional regulated environment
  • Proven leadership capabilities, with the ability to drive results in a matrixed environment and lead cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels, including senior leadership and external partners
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Customer-centric mindset with strong capabilities in gathering insights and translating them into successful products
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with experience using data to drive decisions that enhance business performance and increase efficiency
