Full-Time | Hybrid Role | Austin, IN

Morgan Foods, Inc. is seeking a commercially driven Product Manager to lead the strategy, performance, and profitable growth of assigned private-label food product categories.

Serving as the business owner for the portfolio, this role will lead category strategy, pricing and margin management, customer-focused innovation, commercialization, and product lifecycle decisions. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Product Manager will partner closely with Sales, Operations, R&D, Finance, Procurement, and Supply Chain to translate customer needs into scalable, profitable solutions.

Role requires, analytical rigor, disciplined proactive project execution, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams in a fast-paced private-label manufacturing environment.

What You Will Be Doing:

The Product Manager owns the strategy, performance, profitability, and lifecycle of assigned private-label and co-manufactured food product categories. This role leads category planning, pricing, innovation, commercialization, portfolio decisions, and customer support while coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver profitable growth.

Using customer, market, operational, and financial insights, the Product Manager identifies opportunities and risks, recommends actions, and drives execution from concept through launch and post-launch evaluation

Category and Financial Ownership

  • Own category performance, including volume, revenue, gross margin, market share, and profitability.
  • Develop and execute annual plans and long-range category strategies.
  • Monitor customer, competitive, consumer, and industry trends to identify growth opportunities and business risks.
  • Translate data into clear recommendations, priorities, and action plans.

Pricing and Profitability

  • Develop pricing strategies that support margin, market position, and customer objectives.
  • Lead customer bids, pricing reviews, margin analysis, and profitability-improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Sales, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Operations to implement pricing actions.
  • Evaluate results and recommend corrective actions as needed.

Commercialization and Project Leadership

  • Lead projects from concept through commercialization, launch, and post-launch review.
  • Establish timelines, responsibilities, risks, deliverables, and success measures.
  • Ensure projects follow Morgan Foods’ Stage Gate and commercialization processes.
  • Drive accountability, resolve issues, and communicate progress, risks, and mitigation plans.

Portfolio and Product Management

  • Manage the full product lifecycle, including innovation, optimization, renovation, rationalization, and discontinuation.
  • Partner with R&D and Operations to improve product quality, reduce cost, and strengthen competitiveness.
  • Lead product benchmarking, sensory evaluations, competitive analysis, and portfolio reviews.
  • Recommend product, distribution, and SKU actions based on performance and customer needs.

Customer and Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as the category expert in customer meetings, business reviews, presentations, and sales planning.
  • Develop insights and recommendations using shipment, financial, syndicated, customer, and market data.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Quality, Regulatory, Commercialization, and R&D.

Other Things That We’ll Be Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, finance, supply chain or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Product Management, Category Management, Commercialization, Marketing, or a related consumer packaged goods discipline in food or food related products. Must have CPG product experience, not services to be considered. Private-label experience is strongly desired.
  • Strong project-management and organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong financial, pricing, analytical, and business-planning capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.
  • Experience using syndicated data, customer data, shipment information, and business analytics to support decisions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and business-reporting tools.
  • SAP knowledge and experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and business-storytelling skills.
  • Ability to operate independently, prioritize effectively, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment while collaborating within a larger marketing & sales group.
  • Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required.
