Job description

Talis Group’s client, a very established and growing privately held food manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Product / Category Manager to own the strategy, profitability, and growth of assigned private-label food categories.  This is a great opportunity for a Consumer Packaged Goods professional who wants true ownership and visibility—with the opportunity to influence pricing, product strategy, innovation, commercialization, and customer relationships.

This flexible 8:00 - 5:00 role offers the ability to work Monday and Friday fully remote and onsite Tuesday though Thursday. Base salary $120-$135k plus generous bonuses .  Full benefit package including:  medical, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability, PTO, holidays, retirement with company match, professional development, etc.  Relocation assistance available.

Highlighted Duties:
  • Own strategy, performance, and profitability for assigned private-label food categories.
  • Develop pricing strategies and identify opportunities to improve margins and grow the business.
  • Lead new product development and commercialization from concept through launch.
  • Manage product lifecycles, including innovation, optimization, and SKU rationalization.
  • Analyze customer, market, competitive, and financial data to drive business decisions.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across Sales, R&D, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and Procurement.
  • Present category strategies and recommendations to customers and senior leadership.

Highlighted Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 5+ years of Product Management, Category Management, Commercialization, or Marketing experience within food / consumer packaged goods.
  • Private-label food experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong financial, pricing, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; SAP experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects through completion.
  • Willingness to travel less than 10%.
