About the Role

The Commercial Strategy Manager will play a critical role in building data-driven payor narratives that demonstrate Charlie Health's clinical and financial value proposition to our largest health plan partners. This person will be responsible for analyzing healthcare claims data - both internal and from market sources - to develop compelling, payor-specific analyses and presentations, including rigorous ROI models that quantify the value Charlie Health delivers to health plan partners. The responsibilities of this role will also include supporting payor relationship management through QBRs and the annual account goal setting process. This position will necessitate strong analytical skills, healthcare industry knowledge, creativity in data storytelling and proactive cross-functional collaboration to deliver valuable insights to the organization. This person will be intellectually curious and eager to develop a deep understanding of payor workflows, healthcare claims data, and stakeholder relationships at a fast-paced, mission-driven organization.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze healthcare claims data (internal performance data and market claims sources) to build compelling payor-facing narratives that demonstrate Charlie Health's clinical and financial value proposition
  • Develop payor-specific ROI analyses that quantify Charlie Health's financial impact, including total cost of care reductions, avoidable utilization (ED visits, inpatient admissions, readmissions), and medical cost offsets attributable to Charlie Health's behavioral health interventions
  • Identify, evaluate, and integrate new sources of market claims data to strengthen payor-facing analyses; demonstrate creativity in how we present and position Charlie Health's performance to payors
  • Create and streamline repeatable GTM processes, tools, and templates to scale commercial initiatives and ensure consistent account execution
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Finance, GTM, Legal, Partnerships, RCM, etc.) to negotiate health plan contracts, to identify partnership opportunities and to resolve operational & billing remediation issue
  • Lead conversations with most important payor stakeholders, alongside Director of Commercial Strategy and VP of Payor Partnerships
  • Assist with scaling Commercial team initiatives over time to meet the needs of Charlie Health
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4-6 years of relevant work experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, high-growth start-up or a similar fast-paced environment
  • Prior healthcare experience, particularly in working with healthcare claims data and/or payors
  • Microsoft Office proficiency - Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Quick and eager learner
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to progress multiple projects/workstreams concurrently
  • Proactive self-starter
  • Proven cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Resourceful with a natural ability to problem-solve
  • SQL & python proficiency is a plus
  • Located within a 45-minute commute of New York City and able to work on-site four days per week

Additional Information

The total target base compensation for this role will be between $123,000 and $153,000 per year at the commencement of employment. In addition to base compensation, this role also offers a performance bonus. The expected total cash compensation range, including potential bonus, will be between $136,000 and $168,000 per year. Please note, pay will be determined on an individualized basis and will be impacted by location, experience, expertise, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Further, cash compensation is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may include stock options and other Charlie Health-sponsored benefits. #LI-Hybrid
