Commercial Strategy Manager

Location: 100% Remote Timezone: US (PST) Our client is seeking an exceptional Commercial Strategy Manager to drive cross-functional alignment, pricing and promotions strategy, product improvement insights, and channel growth initiatives, including go-to-market planning and execution. In this role, the Commercial Strategy Manager acts as a strategic operator embedded within the organization, ensuring that commercial levers are optimized to maximize growth and profitability across all markets and channels.

All of our client's roles are global and omni-channel, with designated areas of accountability across all product categories, countries, and sales/marketing channels. The Commercial Strategy Manager will have a worldwide impact, ensuring a cohesive strategy that aligns with business objectives and drives success across D2C, Amazon, wholesale, and emerging growth channels.

Key Areas of Accountability

  • Pricing & Promotions: Lead strategy, testing, and optimization of sitewide and channel-specific promotions & global price book to balance growth, margin, and customer experience.
  • Assortment & Merchandising Strategy: Partner with Product & Planning teams to rationalize and optimize the product assortment, ensuring clarity of choice for customers and efficiency for the business.
  • Channel Strategy: Support expansion into new sales channels with tailored pricing, promo, and assortment frameworks.
  • Commercial Insights: Develop reporting and insights on pricing, promotions, and assortment performance to inform executive decision-making.
  • Business Case Development: Build financial models and scenarios to evaluate strategic initiatives (e.g., bundle discount changes, discount rationalization)
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Product & Planning on assortment planning and product strategy.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to align promotional strategy with brand positioning and customer acquisition goals.
  • Work with Finance on forecasting, margin analysis, and business case validation.

Qualification Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in strategy, consulting, or commercial management.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; highly proficient in Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Ability to translate data into insights and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentations.
  • Preferences
  • Passion for the D2C and apparel space.
  • Familiarity with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI).

Skills and Competencies

  • Technical skills: Advanced Excel/Sheets, financial modeling, data visualization, SQL (preferred).
  • Soft skills: Strategic thinking, stakeholder management, executive presence, adaptability, strong communication, detail orientation.
