Position Summary
The Commercial Business Development Manager owns new client development and account management for Sun Title's Commercial Property Division across West and Southwest Michigan, targeting commercial attorneys, lenders, banks, credit unions, developers, builders, and real estate investors. This role is equal parts strategic sales and dedicated relationship manager, with direct responsibility for developing and directing the Commercial Sales Assistant.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
• Prospect and convert new commercial relationships across West and Southwest Michigan
• Execute a structured prospecting plan with defined cadences and conversion targets
• Represent Sun Title at trade association and client events
• Conduct discovery meetings; articulate Sun Title's value proposition with confidence
Account Management
• Primary relationship manager for existing commercial client portfolio
• Every key client has heard from you in the last 30 days
• Internal client advocate; coordinate with Escrow Officers to exceed expectations every transaction
Sales Assistant Leadership
• Train, develop, and direct the entry-level Commercial Sales Assistant
• Delegate effectively; provide regular feedback and a clear development path
Pipeline & Reporting
• Maintain a complete, current CRM pipeline; report regularly to the Director of Operations
• Participate in commercial division planning and annual territory strategy discussions

• Every key existing client knows you and has heard from you in the last 30 days

Qualifications
Required
• 3+ years B2B sales, business development, or account management with proven results
• Strong relationship management and CRM discipline
• Exceptional communication skills across sophisticated commercial audiences
• Ability to develop and direct an entry-level direct report
• Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation
Preferred
• Commercial real estate, title, lending, or legal services experience
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Real Estate, or related field
