Position Summary
Are you an experienced commercial insurance professional who enjoys building relationships, solving complex risk challenges, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients? Haas amp; Wilkerson Insurance is seeking an Account Executive to join our Commercial Insurance team.
As an Account Executive, you'll serve as the strategic lead for an assigned book of business, partnering closely with Producers, Account Managers, and Account Administrators to deliver exceptional client service and long-term insurance solutions. You'll work directly with business owners and organizational leaders to understand their evolving risks, develop thoughtful insurance strategies, and advocate for their best interests with insurance carriers. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a consultative environment, enjoys navigating complex commercial accounts, and wants to make a meaningful impact on both clients and teammates.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary strategic advisor for an assigned portfolio of commercial clients
  • Build trusted relationships by understanding each client's business, operations, and long-term goals
  • Evaluate current insurance programs and identify opportunities to strengthen coverage, reduce exposures, and improve risk management strategies
  • Lead annual stewardship and renewal meetings with clients to review coverage recommendations and discuss emerging risks
  • Develop marketing strategies and negotiate competitive coverage, pricing, and terms with insurance carriers
  • Collaborate with Producers and internal service team members to deliver exceptional client experiences and support new business opportunities
  • Analyze complex contracts, policies, and insurance programs to identify potential coverage gaps
  • Coordinate the renewal process, including market selection, carrier negotiations, proposal preparation, and presentation
  • Recommend additional products and services that align with client needs and risk exposures
  • Maintain service timelines and ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule
  • Mentor and support Account Managers and Account Administrators while fostering a collaborative team environment
  • Stay current on industry trends, insurance markets, and regulatory changes that impact clients
Requirements
  • Minimum of five years of commercial insurance experience, or equivalent combination of education and ten years of directly related industry experience
  • Previous experience as an Account Executive or similar client-facing commercial insurance role strongly preferred
  • Active Property amp; Casualty license or ability to obtain within 60 days
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, underwriting practices, risk management principles, and carrier markets
  • Strong consultative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to explain complex insurance concepts clearly
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and agency management systems; experience with Vertafore products is a plus
  • Professional designations such as CIC, CPCU, ARM, or similar are highly valued
