Overview (Scope of Role)

The Color Technology Specialistย performs all testing of incoming colorant raw materials, products made in production and intermediates for custom color production. Production of finished product for customer orders and samples.

This is an onsite position in Bristol, PA

Responsibilities
  • Development of color formulation to requests or sample submissions
  • Replace discontinued colorants
  • Testing for possible improvement and cost savings
  • Production of small orders
  • Operation of 3 extruders, 2 injection molders and a compression press
  • Support customer sample chip program
  • Testing of raw materials and finished goods; measure chips vs standard and record results
  • Maintain raw material testing data and report internally and to suppliers
  • SAP entry of QC Data and maintenance work orders
  • Testing Letdowns (KR and concentrates); archiving retains of same
  • Maintain and report non-conformances
  • Maintain and prepare assigned equipment and standards to ensure accurate and precise analytical
  • Provide technical support for color adjustments in Production.
  • Maintains equipment, instruments and housekeeping in a safe
  • Supports safety programs by completing observations and Hazard IDs
  • Supports Loss Control policy, TIMS, ISO 9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 management
  • Ability to handle 300 lb drums
  • Ability to climb ladder steps
  • Any other reasonable duties as assigned.

  • Complies with all external regulatory requirements, industry best practices and internal
  • Sets the example for all Quality Systems expectations.
ย Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in science or related field preferred, or time served relevant work experience
  • 1-5+ years of experience in polymer processing
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office, including MS Access, SAP exp preferred
  • Understanding of color theory and measurements
