Job description

Position Summary

Assist the Graphics Services Manager in managing external vendor projects for printing and converting at Belmark. This role ensures consistent, high-quality print output through strong application of design principles and color management practices.

The position requires a solid understanding of external vendor workflows, print production processes, and color control from pre-press through manufacturing—both theoretical and practical. The role serves as a key link between Pre-Press and Production to ensure all color management standards are understood, implemented, and followed.

Responsibilities include providing detailed artwork and production guidance such as file specifications, setup requirements, print recommendations, and graphic consultation to ensure optimal print performance and successful conversion into finished product.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Office Hours)
  • Some overtime may be required
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required
  • Pre-employment drug screening required if offered the position

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary contact for external vendor, brand, and graphics-related projects with Customers, Designers, Sales, Account Service, and Manufacturing teams
  • Educate internal and external partners on Belmark’s color management and brand standards
  • Collaborate with Color Manager to integrate processes into workflows, systems, hardware, and software
  • Communicate directly with customers, designers, and vendors to clarify project requirements, timelines, and deliverables
  • Support Sales and Account Service by communicating Belmark printing capabilities and constraints
  • Manage flow of artwork and graphic orders, including label pages, preflight files, and related documentation
  • Preflight customer-supplied files, evaluate print readiness, and determine revision status
  • Identify and resolve design and printability issues across all production processes
  • Develop clear production instructions for proofs, final files, stepped files, plates, and related outputs
  • Review and validate artwork and production files for accuracy and consistency
  • Participate in press approvals (onsite or virtual) and customer visits as needed
  • Collect and document printed samples for vendor print quality programs
  • Conduct post-press reviews and support manufacturing during production issues
  • Coordinate job pulls, revisions, and internal change requests
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, efficiency, and quality standards
  • Support adherence to color management practices across manufacturing operations
  • Deliver presentations on color management practices when required
  • May create label designs based on customer and production specifications
  • Measure and evaluate press profile sheets to ensure print accuracy and quality

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; Associate degree or technical training preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in printing, packaging, or graphics production preferred
  • Experience in flexographic, digital, offset, or rotogravure printing environments strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of packaging design, die lines, templates, and production tolerances
  • Knowledge of color management, press characterization, and print reproduction processes
  • Familiarity with customer/vendor proofing and approval systems (e.g., Web Center, GMI, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and Esko software (ArtPro or similar)
  • Strong understanding of prepress workflows and production file preparation
  • Ability to operate Mac-based systems and standard office equipment
