What are Collision Service Advisors?

Collision Service Advisors are professionals who act as the primary point of contact between customers and auto body repair shops after a vehicle accident. They assess vehicle damage, provide repair estimates, explain the repair process to customers, and coordinate between customers, technicians, and insurance companies. Their role ensures that repairs are completed efficiently and that customers are kept informed throughout the repair process. Collision Service Advisors also handle paperwork, scheduling, and customer service to create a smooth experience for clients.

Why are service advisors paid so much?

Collision Service Advisors are paid well because they handle complex customer interactions, coordinate repairs, and often have sales targets that contribute to shop revenue. Their role requires strong communication skills, product knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, which are highly valued in the automotive repair industry.

Is being a service advisor a good career?

A collision service advisor is a customer service professional who communicates repair estimates and progress to clients in auto repair shops. The role offers opportunities for advancement, requires good communication skills, and often involves working with automotive systems and repair processes. It can be a stable career with potential for growth in the automotive industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Collision Service Advisor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Collision Service Advisor, you need knowledge of automotive repair processes, estimating practices, and customer service, often supported by experience in the automotive industry or related training. Familiarity with estimating software like CCC ONE, Mitchell, or Audatex and understanding of insurance claim systems are typically required. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills help you build trust with customers and coordinate repairs efficiently. These abilities are essential for ensuring customer satisfaction, accurate repair estimates, and smooth workflow in collision repair facilities.

What jobs in the US pay $300,000 a year?

A Collision Service Advisor typically does not earn $300,000 annually; such high salaries are more common in executive, specialized medical, or technology roles. High-paying jobs often require advanced skills, certifications, or leadership positions, and salaries vary based on experience and location.

What are some common challenges Collision Service Advisors face when managing multiple repair orders simultaneously?

Collision Service Advisors often juggle several repair orders at once, which can be challenging due to the need to coordinate between technicians, insurance adjusters, and customers. Maintaining clear communication and accurate documentation for each case is crucial to prevent delays and misunderstandings. Staying organized and using collision management software can help streamline workflow, but adapting to fast-changing priorities and handling occasional difficult conversations with customers are important parts of the role.

What is the highest paying job in auto body?

In auto body repair, the highest paying roles are often specialized positions such as collision shop managers, estimators, or technicians with advanced certifications and extensive experience. These roles typically require strong technical skills, knowledge of repair estimating software, and leadership abilities, and they can earn significantly higher salaries than entry-level technicians.

Join a Team That's Growing.

Better Collision Centers has been serving Bluffton for two years, and we're looking for a Service Advisor who knows that this job is about people, not just paperwork.

We need someone who earns trust naturally, communicates clearly, and takes ownership of every customer's experience from start to finish.

  • Coordinate with technicians to keep production moving
  • Delegate work orders and ensure repairs stay on schedule
  • Order parts and manage supplements
  • Handle estimates, authorizations, and documentation
  • Deliver vehicles back to customers with confidence

This role is equal parts relationship builder, communicator, and coordinator. You're the person who makes sure nothing falls through the cracks, and the face customers trust.

What We're Looking For

  • A natural relationship builder. Someone customers and coworkers want to work with

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple repairs at once

  • 1 Floating Holiday upon hire
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Voluntary life insurance
  • Short-term and long-term disability
  • Growth opportunities. This company is expanding fast

Our Core Values

  • Culture-First Excellence. Trust, transparency, accountability.
  • Continuous Growth & Innovation. Standing still is not an option.
  • Operational Agility. Flow beats hurry.
  • Relentless Quality & Safety. No shortcuts. Ever.
  • Empowered Team Ownership. We rise by lifting each other.
