Job description

State Credit Union is need of a Collections Specialist in Columbia, SC.

Applicants are are currently being accepted for the position of Collections Specialist within the Loan Adjustments department. The Collections Specialist will have the pleasure of supporting Loan Adjustments with specialized duties assigned by the Loan Adjustments Manager. The Collections Specialist must adhere to SCU policies and procedures and state and federal collection laws.

Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assign collateral for repossession with approved agent.
  • Coordinate the liquidation of repossessed collateral with repossession agents, auction and other entities as necessary.
  • Track inventory and repossession assignments.
  • Apply proceeds from the sale of repossessed collateral.
  • File collateral damage, skip and deficiency claims with insurance carrier.
  • Represent SCU in Magistrate's Court
  • Respond to credit disputes via e-Oscar (ACDV & AUD)

All applicants must have experience in loan adjustments, collections, or collateral recovery. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for related work experience. All applicants must have excellent written and oral communication skills, proficiency in Excel, and be detail-oriented. Applicants must have a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel state-wide, sometimes with short notice.
