The Supervisor of Distribution Center Area is a member of the site leadership team and is fully empowered to lead a specified area of a regional distribution center to meet and exceed daily goals, and financial and operational expectations, while continuously improving processes.
CORE FUNCTIONS
  • Drive Culture
    • Demonstrate RealTruck core values, supporting the culture with each interaction within the department and facility.
    • Maintain a safe work environment through full participation in all safety related matters, including awareness, incident reporting, meetings, safety audits, supporting initiatives, investigations, etc.
    • Own the relationships between shifts, peers and department associates to build partnerships and maximize performance.
    • Participate in resolving associates' concerns by reporting, investigating, follow up and discipline process.
    • Build Trust with associates to develop open and honest conversations through clear expectations, continuous feedback, support, development and accountabilities that will drive performance and results.
    • Observe associates' behaviors and coach for growth to improve performance and ensure all individual objectives are achieved through recognition, redirection, and partnering with HR and management to formally address performance as necessary.
    • Demonstrate understanding, empathy and awareness of the individual, supporting each associate's success and work experience.
  • Operational Management
    • Demonstrate area expertise, including preparation of the daily/weekly plan, clear communication with the team, ability to make immediate operational decisions and meet all objectives and KPI's of the area.
    • Maintain department operational flow ensuring continuous production and team productivity to meet individual and team objectives while supporting the larger operation and setting upstream and downstream areas up for success.
    • Drive continuous improvement in operations and process areas that lead to a better customer experience in quality, accuracy, efficiencies, expense reductions, and increased productivity.
    • Monitor and react to production and volume needs maximizing resources that drive productivity through the movement of associates within the facility.
    • Responsible for associate timecard maintenance, ensuring correct pay coding and accurate payroll information.
    • Identify and address cross-training needs to maintain proper levels required for production, ensuring associates have the tools and equipment to maximize their effectiveness.
    • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices.
    • Lead or participate in special projects and initiatives aimed at improving distribution center operations.
  • Quality Control & Customer Focus
    • Ensure accuracy and quality of inventory to enhance the customer experience, ensure all actions and processes drive excellence and decisions are made to prioritize the customer experience.
    • Operate with a customer mindset ensuring no shortcuts are taken that impact accuracy or quality.
    • Deliver inventory results that reduce shrink and damage, and improve turn, productivity and sales.
    • Develop and manage budgets for labor planning and supplies to prepare for volume and production while achieving financial objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in logistics, business, or related field preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in operations or logistics required.
  • 1+ years of experience at a leadership level with similar responsibilities required.
  • Experience working in a multi-channel, multi-shift, high volume distribution environment preferred.

Required Licenses
  • Ability to become licensed in operating powered warehouse equipment such as reach forklift trucks and order pickers.

  • Strong team management abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and ERP/WMS software.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
