Job description

Supervise daily distribution center operations to ensure the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of merchandise while meeting productivity, inventory, and service goals. Lead, train, schedule, and develop team members across assigned distribution function. Ensure compliance with O'Reilly policies, operational procedures, and safety standards while supporting continuous improvement and overall distribution center performance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise and coordinate daily distribution center operations for supervised area to ensure operational efficiency. Supervised areas include: receiving, stocking, order processing, shipping, acquisitions, and cross dock functions.
  • Lead, train, schedule, evaluate, and coach distribution center team members while promoting accountability, productivity, and teamwork through O'Reilly culture.
  • Monitor departmental workflow and staffing levels to ensure daily operational goals, delivery schedules, and productivity targets are achieved.
  • Ensure compliance with O'Reilly operational procedures, safety standards, and DOT regulations if applicable.
  • Oversee supervised area's role in inbound and outbound merchandise processes to ensure product is accurately received, stocked, processed, loaded, and delivered according to O'Reilly standards.
  • Coordinate with operations manager to maintain consistent workflow and resolve operational issues.
  • Provide leadership by communicating distribution center expectations clearly, monitoring performance, and addressing opportunities for growth with team members.
  • Conduct team meetings, safety discussions, and on-the-job training to reinforce operational procedures, safety expectations, and O'Reilly initiatives.
  • Ensure all powered industrial equipment operators within supervised area are properly trained, certified, and operating equipment safely and effectively.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new team members.
  • Support departmental budgeting, payroll tracking, capital expenditure planning, and reporting activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while proactively identifying unsafe practices or conditions.
  • Monitor key operational metrics within supervised area and implement process improvements to optimize workflow, increase efficiency, and improve service levels.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and workflow to meet operational deadlines.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and general materials handling processes.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory systems, routing systems, or AS400 platforms.
Desired:
  • Experience working with operational metrics, productivity expectations, and workflow management.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a distribution center, warehouse, transportation, or logistics environment.
  • Completion of O'Reilly supervisor training programs.
  • Proficiency in one or more additional languages.
