Job Summary


COMHAR is seeking a compassionate and experienced Peer Job Coach to join our Clubhouse team. In this role, you will provide peer-based support to members in achieving their vocational goals, fostering independence, and developing meaningful work skills. As a Peer Job Coach, you will use your lived experience to empower members, promote recovery, and create a supportive and inclusive work environment.


The Peer Job Coach is required to work at the multiple sites of COMHAR, Inc and Philadelphia where members are employed. The Peer Job Coach will observe and inspect the work of the members working in these placements at the job site and will offer guidance and support as necessary. The Peer Job Coach will then advise Clubhouse Placement Manager and Clubhouse Director of that memberโ€™s strengths and any challenges that may need to be addressed in counseling and training the member.

Key Responsibilities

  • To lead in encouraging and empowering of the Clubhouse members in a manner that prepares them for permanent work.
  • The Job Coach will have the capability and flexibility of handling and juggling the multiplicity of activities and demands occurring at the various job sites.
  • The Job Coach will convey a vibrant energy that attracts members and enables both staff and members to do lots of things well.
  • Work collaboratively with Employment Specialist, Placement Managers, and the Clubhouse Director in managing placement with COMHAR, Inc and other employers.
  • Work side-by-side with members in the Work-Ordered Day prior to their TE/SE experience, in a manner that establishes a rapport of trust. Provide support and assistance to working members as needed.
  • Obtain weekly progress reports from site supervisors as applicable.
  • Report all issues/ challenges relative to the placement to the Placement Managers and Clubhouse Director.
  • Participate in the Clubhouse Meetings and Programs as scheduled.
  • Maintain health and safety standards as required by regulating agencies, and COMHAR, Inc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma (or GED)
  • Previous experience providing support to individual with mental health diagnosis.
  • Current PA Driver's License; satisfactory driving record; eligible to operate program vehicles.
  • Completion of a 12-hour orientation on psych rehab/Clubhouse Model offered by certified trainers to be completed within one year of hire
  • Experience working in the mental health field in a Clubhouse or Psych Rehab Program preferred
