Job description

RCN Capital is a national, direct, private lender headquartered in South Windsor, CT . We are seeking a Closing Specialist to join their Legal team and support our Loan Officers in our South Windsor, CT office. The Closing Specialist will be responsible for acting on the closing attorney's behalf to ensure that the lender has all title and closing documentation and needs met. Additionally, the Closing Specialist will draft and finalize documentation, such as HUD-1 settlement statements. The Closing Specialist will also partner with the Loan Officer and title company to determine appropriate closing dates.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Act as liaison between the Closing attorney and the title company to obtain necessary documentation and title mark-ups on loans
  • Prepare and finalize HUD-1 settlement statements as well as other documentation for the legal team as needed
  • Work closely with Loan Officers and title companies to determine appropriate closing dates
  • Additional tasks as assigned by Closing Manager and Corporate Counsel

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask under pressure
  • At least 1 year of experience in a legal office setting
  • Experience in real estate or real estate law is strongly preferred
  • Experience drafting legal documents preferred

Education:
  • Associate's degree (preferred) in Real Estate, Law, Business, Paralegal Studies, or related field

Work Schedule:
  • Full time, 40 hours/week
  • Monday-Friday, 9AM to 6PM
  • Hybrid work model
  • First 90 days onsite for training
  • 2 days/week required onsite after
