Job description

Job Summary - Clinical Therapist

Ensures mental health and addiction treatment services are provided in a way that maximizes patient empowerment and practical application. Provides individual and group therapy services to guide patients in achieving effective mental, social, physical, and spiritual growth and knowledge. Co-facilitates with the program manager/case manager in creating a therapeutic milieu and positive peer culture within the facility. Works with the Clinic Administrative Director, Clinical Director, Program Director/managers, and Case Managers in navigating daily schedules.

Responsibilities and Duties
Under the direction of the Clinical Director:
  • Guide and facilitate treatment planning (groups/individual) *facilitate sessions as directed*
  • Ensure program quality and efficiency
  • Clinical Documentation
  • Developing a safe, trustworthy relationship with clients to ensure client healing and progression
  • Encourage growth and awareness of clients individual psychotherapy needs
  • Facilitate and assist client in establishing appropriate treatment goals
  • Works closely with the Clinical Director to ensure program scheduling, structure, and services are running smoothly and acting in the best needs of the patients.
  • Provides individual therapy following ASAM criteria
  • Conduct clinical diagnostic assessments in accordance with ASAM criteria to determine appropriate level of care.
  • Complete charting for each client weekly (individual sessions, therapeutic process group note, family therapy, additional groups facilitated).
  • Responsible to be on-call one week per month from Monday-Sunday after hours for client crisis and consultation
  • Complete safe discharge planning

Qualifications and Skills
Diamond Tree Recovery is seeking a clinical therapist for our Kaysville residential treatment center and outpatient programs. The ability to motivate and encourage and clinically engage is a must.

  • Master level therapist or CSW needing supervision
  • Minimum of 1-year experience preferred in SUD/mental health treatment
  • Must have direct clinical and case management experience, group leadership experience and knowledge regarding addiction rehabilitation philosophy
  • Strong clinical and interpersonal skills, ability to lead and direct the work of others, and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have basic computer user skills
