Job description

Insight Practice Management Implementation Specialist

Remote

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Implementation Specialist leads implementation projects from requirements gathering, workflow assessments, and project planning through implementation, training, go-live support and transfer to end-user support. Project types vary and may include onboarding/offboarding Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC) and anesthesia entities. The Implementation Specialist documents findings for each project and provides clear, concise written recommendations. The Implementation Specialist is responsible for a variety of tasks required to successfully, manage, coordinate and lead implementation projects including performing system builds, creating user documentation and conducting end-user training for ASC, Central Billing Office (CBO) and corporate users. Other responsibilities include upgrade and maintenance testing, Background Business Processor (BBP) monitoring, Revenue Cycle strategic initiatives and Tier 2 support.

Work Schedule: Remote First with occasional travel (up to 50%)

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead beginning to end implementation of the NextGen PM system and ancillary systems for assigned sites.
  • Balance multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining the high standards of the AMSURG platform.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Cycle teams and Business Operations Managers to effectively implement NextGen to fit the assigned project needs.
  • Work as part of the Insight team to facilitate and/or complete effective implementations with the following goals:
    • Rapidly deployable, repeatable processes
    • Successful revenue cycle management with demonstrable revenue stream from ERA processes within 20 days of go-live date
    • Cost-effective follow-up and phased training approach for implementing post- or complimentary EPM go-live features such as Document Scanning, Real Time Server, Background Business Processor, Worklog/Tasking, other ancillary products and iterative version updates
  • Conduct Practice Management training sessions for internal AMSURG constituencies.
  • Review, update, maintain and utilize NextGen training materials for internal and external use.
  • Assist Service Desk or User Satisfaction personnel with Tier 2 center and Central Billing Office (CBO) NextGen-related support issues.
  • Assess current configuration and develop customized modifications to meet specific needs of centers, the Central Billing Office (CBO) or anesthesia entities.
  • Troubleshoot NextGen configuration and specification issues with associated vendors and payers.
  • Participate in implementation project related integrations as a subject matter expert; perform system testing and troubleshoot interface issues with associated vendors as needed.
  • Assist EDI Specialists with payer or claim related issues.
  • Assess complex workflows within the ASC affiliated environments to ensure the optimal configuration of the NextGen system and any other vendor products such as Endoscopy Report writing systems, laboratory systems, etc.
  • Facilitate meetings, demonstrations and training with center staff on the NextGen application.
  • Conduct training sessions in small and large groups in various settings (both onsite and remote) with minimal equipment, as the situation requires.
  • Conduct performance reviews for existing centers and practices to assist Operations teams in finding opportunities to enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate with various vendors for issue resolution.
  • Evaluate existing centers’ configurations and revise to meet upgrades and new regulatory requirements as needed utilizing technology and efficient methods of advanced functionalities made available within the upgrades.
  • Demonstrate ability to relate with full spectrum of personnel in the ASC and/or practice environment from front desk receptionist to billing specialist to clinical and provider personnel.
  • Communicate issues to AMSURG staff and Operations teams concisely and discuss solution options effectively as part of a patient-centered and action-oriented team.
  • Create and update professional training materials, guides, and curricula.
  • Monitor the Background Business Processor as needed.
  • Ability to travel approximately 30-50%; usual on-site commitment consists of one-two day site assessment which may or may not require an overnight stay, potential two-three days of on-site support during the first week of go-live for each assigned traditional project.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including Information Security Policies and ensure that AMSURG remains as secure as possible
  • Regular and reliable attendance required
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

Education/Experience:

  • Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or the equivalent of four (4) years of professional experience in appropriate Healthcare environment required.
    • At least two (2) years direct use experience with NextGen Practice Management version 5.8 and higher.
    • Thorough understanding of revenue cycle workflows in ambulatory surgery center and/or medical practice is required.
  • Preferred:

    • Two (2) years preferred Practice Management Training experience within medical practices or surgery centers – or equivalent to Project Lead or Core Team member on Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) installs for a practice or surgery center with configuration and table maintenance responsibilities.
    • Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) experience is a plus such as Billing Office management experience or firm understanding of Billing, Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and ICD10 coding, preferred.
    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for 5010, ICD10 are highly desirable.
