Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1.Coordinates development and implementation of staff development, orientation, in-service,and other education/training programs. orientation.2. Coordinates unit/department new hireServes as resource for clinical practice, quality initiatives, and regulatory requirementsrelating to education, competencies, and orientation, including conducting research andotherwise maintaining knowledge of current requirements. Assists staff with interpretationas necessary. 3.Works with department leadership to ensure documentation of staff education andcompetency. Determines competency needs and continually evaluates staff in order toprovide feedback on staff performance to unit leadership. 4. Participates in oversight and ongoing education programs related to regulatory standards,evidence-based practice, clinical guidelines, policies and procedures, and qualityinitiatives. Reports variances in compliance to appropriate leadership and facilitates,tracks, and trends improvement of standard processes. Relates quality improvement andpractice guideline management to annual review and competency requirements. Assistswith development of supportive patient care documentation tools.5.Maintains educational resources for staff to include a resource library and audiovisualaids.6. Serves as a resource person for various hospital departments regarding procedure relatedevidence-based practice, regulatory requirements, and quality initiatives.7.8.Page 2Identifies opportunities to enhance clinical care, compliance with quality and regulatoryinitiatives, and patient safety, and assists in implementing new processes forimprovement. Assists with continuous departmental readiness for allregulatory standards.Participates in root cause analysis processes. Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:1. Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited school of nursing2. Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.3. Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).4. Must hold Certified in American Heart Association's Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).5. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATIONPREFERRED:1.Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialtycertifications in specific units.
