General Summary: The Senior Vice President, International Compliance Carbon lead is responsible for building and leading Anewโ€™s global compliance carbon strategy, origination and executing transactions across regulated and emerging compliance markets, and positioning Anew as a trusted counterparty to corporates, governments, and project developers navigating CORSIA, Article 6, and national carbon pricing regimes worldwide.

Primary Responsibilities and Competencies:

Strategy & Market Leadership
  • Lead the development and implementation of Anewโ€™s global compliance carbon strategy across regulated and emerging programs, including CORSIA, Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, national and regional carbon pricing and tax regimes (such as the Singapore carbon tax), and other compliance-eligible instruments
  • Sustain a forward-looking view of compliance market design, eligibility rules, corresponding adjustments, and host-country authorization processes, translating policy developments into commercial opportunities for Anew and its clients
  • Represent Anew with industry associations, registries, regulators, standard-setting bodies, and the broader compliance carbon and climate policy community
Origination & Transaction Execution
  • Originate, structure, negotiate, and close compliance carbon transactions, including offtakes, prepayments, forward purchases, and strategic supply partnerships across multiple geographies and program pathways
  • Develop and oversee a pipeline of high-quality, compliance-eligible supply, evaluating project quality, eligibility, counterparty strength, delivery and issuance risk, and overall portfolio fit
  • Prepare investment rationales, financial analyses, valuation methodologies, and transaction materials, while leading deals through origination, internal approval, and contract execution
  • Advise corporate and institutional clients on compliance obligations, eligibility strategy, and procurement approaches, structuring solutions that meet their regulatory and commercial objectives
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with project developers, corporate buyers, governments, financial institutions, and development finance actors across key compliance markets
  • Partner with Technical and Natural Climate Solutions Implementation, Portfolio Management, Sales, Legal, and Business Development teams to translate compliance opportunities into executable transactions with credible deliverability
  • Contribute to broad portfolio design and supply strategy
  • Mentor team members as Anew scales its compliance carbon capabilities
  • Additional duties as necessary

Required Education, Experience and Certification:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a relevant field; graduate or masterโ€™s degree (MBA, MPA, or equivalent) preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in client engagement and transaction execution, with significant time spent in carbon markets, climate finance, energy, commodities, or structured finance
  • Deep expertise in compliance carbon markets, including CORSIA, Article 6 (cooperative approaches and host-country authorization), and national or regional carbon pricing and tax regimes such as the Singapore carbon tax
  • Strong understanding of international climate policy frameworks (UNFCCC, Paris Agreement) and the registries, standards, and eligibility criteria governing compliance-eligible units
  • Demonstrated track record originating, structuring, negotiating, and closing complex, multi-million-dollar environmental commodity transactions with corporate and institutional counterparties
  • Experience negotiating with senior public- and private-sector stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Singapore
Preferred Education, Qualifications & Experience:
  • Direct experience with Article 6 transactions, host-country authorization processes, or CORSIA-eligible supply
  • Familiarity with development finance institutions, banks, investors, and structured or blended capital solutions
  • Experience managing or building a team within a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment
  • Multilingual skills relevant to key compliance markets are a plus
  • Ability to travel internationally, up to approximately 25%
