Description
We are currently seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join our practice in Houston, Texas. You will work with a select team providing tax compliance services to predominantly manufacturing and distribution clients. You must be able to manage projects, work under time pressures, multitask, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. The right candidate will be organized, proactive and results-oriented.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare Corporate Federal 1120 and State Tax Returns
  • Perform technical tax research on a variety of Federal, state, and international tax topics
  • Assist with the preparation of income tax provisions for corporate taxpayers under ASC 740
  • Provide timely and high-quality services and deliverables that exceed client expectations
  • Maintain active communication to manage expectations and ensure client satisfaction
  • Prepare clear, concise workpapers and other communications
  • Effectively delegate and oversee the work efforts by setting goals, providing resources and removing obstacles
  • Provide timely training, coaching, and performance feedback to staff associates

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 3-4 years of professional experience, preferably in public accounting
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or Master's degree in Accounting/Taxation
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills in English
  • Process-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Positive team player attitude

Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • CPA license or similar certification is preferred, but not required
  • German writing and communication skills are an advantage, but not required
  • Public accounting experience, including some experience reviewing tax compliance work

Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Experience in the manufacturing and distribution industry
  • CCH Axcess Tax experience
