Client Solutions Account Executive

Tech Impact is seeking an experienced, consultative, and results-oriented Client Solutions Account Executive to help nonprofit organizations select and purchase technology services that improve security, efficiency, and mission effectiveness. This is a primarily inbound technology sales role. Most opportunities come through Tech Impact's website, TechSoup, referrals, and partner channels. The Account Executive owns the sales process from initial inquiry through discovery, recommendation, proposal, follow-up, negotiation, and close. Standard opportunities are closed independently; larger or technically complex opportunities are escalated to senior sales leadership or a technical subject-matter expert for scoping and closing support. The ideal candidate brings successful technology-services sales experience and a genuine interest in helping mission-driven organizations make sound technology investments. Nonprofit-sector experience is strongly preferred but not required.

About Tech Impact

Tech Impact is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to leverage technology to advance social impact. We provide technology services, education, and workforce-development programs that strengthen nonprofits and the communities they serve. Our technology teams support hundreds of organizations nationwide, from small community-based nonprofits to international, multi-location organizations.

What You'll Sell

  • Managed IT Support, backups, voice communications, and related recurring services
  • Cybersecurity assessments, advisory services, monitoring, detection, and protection
  • Microsoft 365, email, file, server, and cloud migrations
  • Data strategy, dashboards, analytics, automation, and AI consulting
  • Strategic technology planning, assessments, and cloud architecture planning
  • Software and database selection, implementation, integration, and related consulting

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and Convert Inbound Opportunities
  • Respond promptly and professionally to inbound leads from Tech Impact, TechSoup, referrals, and partner channels.
  • Conduct as many as 25 customer discovery and sales meetings each week, generally lasting 30–45 minutes.
  • Understand each prospect's goals, technology environment, challenges, urgency, budget, and decision-making process.
  • Qualify opportunities and recommend the most appropriate Tech Impact service or next step.
  • Maintain an overall close rate of 30% or higher for sales-qualified opportunities receiving a formal recommendation or proposal.
  • Develop Solutions and Close Business
  • Translate customer needs into clear service recommendations and explain technical services in accessible business language.
  • Prepare accurate quotes, proposals, statements of work, service agreements, and presentations using established pricing and service packages.
  • Manage timely, personalized follow-up; address concerns; negotiate appropriate terms; and guide opportunities to a decision.
  • Independently close well-defined Managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud, data, AI, and consulting opportunities.
  • Recognize when an opportunity requires additional technical discovery or executive involvement and coordinate the appropriate support.
  • Ensure a smooth transition from sales to onboarding and service-delivery teams.
  • Manage Pipeline and Sales Operations
  • Maintain accurate opportunity, account, contact, meeting, and next-step records in HubSpot, HaloPSA, and related systems.
  • Provide reliable pipeline updates, close-date projections, and revenue forecasts.
  • Reengage qualified opportunities that have stalled or require a longer decision cycle.
  • Track sales activity, conversion, recurring revenue, project revenue, and other established performance measures.
  • Build Relationships and Support Growth
  • Build trusted relationships with nonprofit executives, operations leaders, finance staff, and technology decision-makers.
  • Represent Tech Impact with credibility, empathy, responsiveness, and integrity.
  • Identify appropriate cross-service opportunities during the sales process and support opportunities referred by colleagues.
  • Contribute selectively to referrals, events, market outreach, and partner relationships as capacity permits; inbound opportunity conversion remains the role's primary focus.
  • Share customer and market feedback to help improve Tech Impact's services and sales processes.

Required Qualifications

  • At least four years of successful B2B technology or technology-services sales experience.
  • Demonstrated success selling managed services, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, data or AI services, software implementation, technology consulting, or related professional services.
  • Experience managing opportunities from discovery through proposal, negotiation, and close.
  • Ability to conduct credible technology discovery conversations and explain business value to nontechnical decision-makers.
  • Demonstrated success achieving individual sales or revenue targets.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of meetings, opportunities, proposals, and follow-up activities without sacrificing customer experience or accuracy.
  • Strong written, verbal, proposal-development, presentation, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Experience using a CRM to manage pipeline activity, next steps, and forecasts.
  • Sound judgment about when to advance an opportunity independently and when to engage technical or senior sales resources.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling managed services for an MSP or technology consulting firm.
  • Experience selling technology solutions to nonprofit organizations or working within the nonprofit sector.
  • Understanding of nonprofit budgets, staffing constraints, procurement practices, and technology needs.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, cloud migrations, cybersecurity, managed support, data solutions, automation, and AI.
  • Experience with HubSpot, HaloPSA, Salesforce, ConnectWise, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with TechSoup or other nonprofit technology partners.

What Success Looks Like

  • Lead response speed and quality
  • Discovery-meeting volume and effectiveness
  • A close rate of 30% or higher on defined sales-qualified opportunities
  • New monthly recurring revenue and project revenue closed
  • Proposal accuracy, follow-up discipline, and sales-cycle momentum
  • Pipeline quality, forecast accuracy, and CRM data integrity
  • Customer experience, teamwork, and effective use of technical resources

The Person We're Looking For

The strongest candidate combines technology sales experience with a consultative, mission-oriented approach. You listen carefully, ask useful questions, communicate clearly, and follow through consistently. You are commercially effective without relying on high-pressure tactics. You do not need to be an engineer, but you understand technology services well enough to conduct credible discovery, recognize viable opportunities, and engage the right expert at the right time.
