How much do client side marketing jobs pay per hour?

As of Sep 4, 2026, the average hourly pay for client side marketing in the United States is $18.47, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $15.38 and $20.67 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is client side marketing?

A Client Side Marketing job involves working in-house for a company to develop and execute marketing strategies that promote the company's products or services. Unlike agency-side marketing, which serves multiple clients, client-side marketers focus solely on their employer’s brand. Responsibilities may include market research, campaign management, content creation, and data analysis to drive customer engagement and business growth. This role often requires collaboration with internal teams such as sales, product development, and design to ensure cohesive branding and messaging.

What are some typical challenges faced in a client side marketing role, and how can they be managed?

Client Side Marketing professionals often face challenges such as aligning internal marketing goals with client expectations, managing tight deadlines across multiple campaigns, and staying updated with rapidly changing digital marketing trends. These challenges can be managed by maintaining clear and frequent communication with both clients and internal teams, using project management tools to stay organized, and seeking ongoing training in emerging marketing platforms. Proactive relationship management and adaptability are crucial for delivering successful campaigns and sustaining long-term client satisfaction. Many organizations also support professional growth through mentorship, certification programs, and cross-functional project opportunities. By developing strong problem-solving skills and fostering collaboration, you can turn these challenges into opportunities for career advancement.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in client side marketing, and why are they important?

To thrive in Client Side Marketing, you need a solid understanding of marketing principles, digital campaigns, and client relationship management, often supported by a degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. Familiarity with digital analytics platforms (such as Google Analytics), CRM systems, and marketing automation tools is highly beneficial, as are certifications like Google Ads or HubSpot. Strong interpersonal skills, creativity, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once are key soft skills for success in this role. These qualifications help ensure effective campaign execution, positive client experiences, and the ability to adapt to constantly evolving marketing trends.

Allworth Financial

Dallas, TX • On-site

Full-time

Job description

SUMMARY:

The Performance Marketing Manager will play a critical role in scaling Allworth Financials' digital acquisition engine, owning the day-to-day execution and optimization of paid marketing campaigns across search, social, and programmatic channels. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution - translating performance goals into well-run campaigns, sharp analysis, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate brings hands-on platform expertise, is comfortable moving fluidly between strategy and execution, and knows how to turn performance data into action.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Launch, manage, and continuously optimize paid marketing campaigns across search (SEM), paid social, and programmatic channels to drive measurable acquisition results.
  • Monitor campaign performance in real time, identifying trends and implementing data-driven optimizations to improve efficiency and outcomes.
  • Partner with external media agencies to ensure campaigns are executed with quality, consistency, and alignment to brand and performance goals.
  • Collaborate closely with the creative team to ensure ad assets are on-brand, effective, and optimized for each channel.
  • Work with the analytics team to validate performance data, troubleshoot tracking issues, and surface actionable insights using tools such as Google Analytics.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date campaign tracking and reporting to keep stakeholders informed on performance against targets.
  • Support integrated marketing efforts by coordinating with adjacent channels (e.g., email, content) to ensure consistent messaging across the funnel.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4-8 years of hands-on experience in performance marketing, with a track record of managing and optimizing paid media campaigns.
  • Direct, hands-on experience running campaigns across SEM, paid social, and programmatic advertising platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics or comparable analytics platforms to inform optimization decisions.
  • Relevant platform certifications a plus (e.g., Google Ads, Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook Blueprint).
  • Experience in either an agency or in-house/client-side marketing environment.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data and translate it into clear optimization decisions.
  • High attention to detail and comfort operating in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
  • Effective collaborator who can work cross-functionally with agencies, creative, and analytics partners to keep campaigns on track.
