What is a Client Side Marketing job?

A Client Side Marketing job involves working in-house for a company to develop and execute marketing strategies that promote the company's products or services. Unlike agency-side marketing, which serves multiple clients, client-side marketers focus solely on their employer’s brand. Responsibilities may include market research, campaign management, content creation, and data analysis to drive customer engagement and business growth. This role often requires collaboration with internal teams such as sales, product development, and design to ensure cohesive branding and messaging.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Client Side Marketing position, and why are they important?

To thrive in Client Side Marketing, you need a solid understanding of marketing principles, digital campaigns, and client relationship management, often supported by a degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. Familiarity with digital analytics platforms (such as Google Analytics), CRM systems, and marketing automation tools is highly beneficial, as are certifications like Google Ads or HubSpot. Strong interpersonal skills, creativity, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once are key soft skills for success in this role. These qualifications help ensure effective campaign execution, positive client experiences, and the ability to adapt to constantly evolving marketing trends.

What are some typical challenges faced in a Client Side Marketing role, and how can they be managed?

Client Side Marketing professionals often face challenges such as aligning internal marketing goals with client expectations, managing tight deadlines across multiple campaigns, and staying updated with rapidly changing digital marketing trends. These challenges can be managed by maintaining clear and frequent communication with both clients and internal teams, using project management tools to stay organized, and seeking ongoing training in emerging marketing platforms. Proactive relationship management and adaptability are crucial for delivering successful campaigns and sustaining long-term client satisfaction. Many organizations also support professional growth through mentorship, certification programs, and cross-functional project opportunities. By developing strong problem-solving skills and fostering collaboration, you can turn these challenges into opportunities for career advancement.

About HUMAN's Client Side Defense:
At HUMAN, we are on a mission to safeguard businesses and their customers from client side threats. Client Side Defense is our set of cutting edge solutions that delivers proactive, continuous protection against client side threats to HUMAN's enterprise and media customers - all before they can compromise trust or disrupt operations.
About the Role:
We're looking for a Senior Product Manager who is passionate about cybersecurity, fraud and malware prevention, and creating customer-centric solutions. This is a high-impact role where you'll own and evolve HUMAN's suite of Client Side Defense products, and collaborate closely with our Sr. Director of Product Management to define and execute the product strategy while working closely with customers and internal teams.
As the driving force behind the product roadmap, you'll partner with a dedicated team of top cyber analysts, data scientists, and engineers to build client-side protections across the enterprise and media landscapes that protect businesses from digital threats. If you thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment and love tackling complex problems - this role is for you.
What You'll Do:
  • Shape the Product Vision & Strategy - Partner with the Sr. Director of Product Management to define and execute a vision aligned with HUMAN's mission and business goals.
  • Develop and manage the product roadmap, integrating customer insights, emerging threats, and market trends into key features and capabilities of our products, while ensuring that products are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Tackle complex data challenges, improving the customer experience by simplifying processes and creating tools that facilitate adoption of our solutions.

Drive Product Execution & Innovation
  • Lead the development of enterprise and media security features, collaborating closely with engineering, data science, and design to ensure that our products are built to meet customer needs and exceed expectations.
  • Translate customer pain points into actionable requirements, leveraging AI-driven fraud and malware detection.
  • Define and track key success metrics (KPIs) to measure success, identify areas for improvement, and optimize product performance.

Engage with Customers & Stakeholders
  • Plan and execute product launches, including developing launch plans, messaging, and sales enablement materials, in partnership with Product Marketing.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal teams to address critical needs and serve as Subject Matter Expert in external conversations
  • Communicate roadmap, updates, and vision across the company.
  • Partner with sales, marketing, and customer success to drive product awareness, adoption, and market impact and to enhance perception of HUMAN's leadership position
  • Gather customer feedback and insights to inform product development and ensure that our products are meeting customer needs.

Make Product Sense Driven Decisions
  • Leverage analytics and problem-solving to align user needs with business objectives.
  • Ensure every product decision supports HUMAN's long-term strategy and delivers measurable value.
  • Have a laser focus on ensuring that key product development decisions are oriented to directly driving HUMAN's short- and long-term revenue growth and market leadership.

Who You Are:
  • 5-8 years of product management experience, with a proven track record of owning B2B enterprise software products.
  • Passionate about cybersecurity, fraud and malware prevention, and user trust, with a keen interest in the space.
  • Data-driven and strategic thinker who thrives on solving complex challenges.
  • Customer-obsessed - you love engaging with users, understanding their pain points, and delivering delightful product experiences.
  • Strong communicator and collaborator, able to align cross-functional teams and drive execution.
  • Self-driven and proactive, motivated to help, and able to perform with minimal supervision in a fast-moving, high-growth team environment.
  • Comfortable with frequent context switching to drive multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Preferably have strong understanding of ad tech
  • Able to write clear requirements documentation, drive prioritization, and coordinate execution with engineering
  • Communicate effectively with the ability to adjust to the audience as necessary
  • Able to quantify collected information and translate into it into opportunities
  • Able to apply analytical skills to solve problems creatively
  • Organized and capable of meeting all deadlines.
