Job description

Job Requirements
Help homebuyers bring their vision of home to life.
Onyx+East, in partnership with New Home Star, is seeking a relationship-driven salesperson to join the onsite sales team in Cincinnati as a New Home Sales & Design Consultant. This opportunity begins selling at Everly, a thoughtfully designed townhome community in East Walnut Hills, and will then transition to selling at Parkmont, a new 90-home community coming to Liberty Township.
We're looking for a motivated sales professional who genuinely enjoys connecting with people, knows how to listen and uncover customer needs, and can confidently guide buyers toward a decision. If you bring strong sales instincts, a willingness to learn, and the drive to grow, Onyx+East provides the training and support to develop your knowledge of new home sales and design.
What You'll Do
  • Guide prospective buyers through the new home sales journey building trusted relationships and maintaining proactive communication along the way.
  • Uncover customer needs through thoughtful questions and active listening, discussing available Onyx+East options, and confidently navigate objections to move opportunities toward a purchasing decision.
  • Proactively manage prospects through marketing initiatives, consistent follow-up, detailed note-taking, CRM activity, and accurate completion of purchase agreements, sales reports, and other required documentation.
  • Lead buyers through post-purchase design selections and appointments at the Onyx+East Design Center, collaborating with the Design team to create a personalized and engaging experience.
  • Build relationships with local Realtors through outreach, presentations, open houses, and events while helping generate traffic and grow awareness of Onyx+East throughout the Cincinnati market.
  • Serve as a key face of Onyx+East in Cincinnati by maintaining a welcoming, show-ready model home, collaborating with internal and external partners, and sharing buyer, traffic, and market insights that support the continued growth of Onyx+East communities.
What We're Looking For
  • 2-3+ years of sales, real estate, new home sales, or other relevant customer-facing experience preferred; direct new home sales experience is not required.
  • Strong sales instincts with the ability to ask effective questions, actively listen, uncover customer needs, overcome objections, identify solutions, and close.
  • Genuine interest in people with a natural ability to build rapport, create trust, and make customers feel heard and understood.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a self-motivated, hardworking, and organized approach to managing sales activity.
  • Curious and growth-oriented mindset with the desire to learn about new home construction, design, real estate, and the Cincinnati housing market.
  • Coachable and receptive to feedback, with a willingness to learn from sales and design leadership and continually strengthen performance.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through with the ability to effectively manage multiple buyers, appointments, documents, and priorities.
  • Comfortable utilizing CRM and sales technology; previous knowledge of residential construction, design, or real estate is a plus.
  • Ohio real estate license is beneficial but not required.
Work Schedule & Additional Requirements
  • Full-time, onsite position, initially selling at the Everly community in East Walnut Hills and then transitioning to the Parkmont community in Liberty Township.
  • Model home hours are 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on most operating days and 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Sundays, with arrival expected approximately 30 minutes before opening to prepare the model for customers.
  • Weekend availability is required, with two scheduled days off during the week. Flexibility for occasional weekends off are available based on community coverage, business needs, and supervisor discretion.
  • Virtual sales meetings are held every other Wednesday. Regular one-on-one meetings with sales leadership are held for each salesperson.
  • Flexibility to attend Realtor events, training, customer appointments, design selections, and other business activities outside of standard model hours as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive base salary plus commission, with base compensation determined based on experience and assigned responsibilities.
  • Anticipated first-year earning potential of approximately $150,00-$160,000 , based on sales performance and achievement of sales goals.
  • Opportunity for increased earning potential as the Cincinnati portfolio grows and the role transitions into future communities.
  • Benefits package including 401(k) and insurance benefits.
  • Assistance with obtaining a real estate license and tuition reimbursement for eligible continuing education; subject to applicable eligibility requirements.
  • Ongoing sales and design training, including collaboration with Onyx+East sales and design leadership.
