Job description

Mowery & Schoenfeld, LLC is adding a Client Advisory Services (CAS) Manager to our growing CAS Advisory team.

The CAS Manager will work closely with our diverse client base to implement best practices within the accounting function for a variety of small-to-medium sized businesses. Former auditorswithin public accounting firms are strongly preferred as their experience and client-facing polish align well with this opportunity!

Key Responsibilities
  • Overall day-to-day management of the accounting and finance functions of multiple clients in a shared services environment.

  • Review clients’ monthly financial statements including month-over-month variance analysis and / or actual-to-budget analysis.

  • Analyze and interpret financial information for client management and provide actionable insight and decision support.

  • Continuously identify opportunities to enhance the clients’ operations and make suggestions for procedural improvements.

  • Understand our technology stack and identify additional add-on processes, systems, modules, and integrations that can drive month-end close efficiencies.

  • Define and document repeatable methodologies with appropriate tools and templates that can be leveraged for future projects.

  • Direct initial assessments, implementations, and onboarding of new clients.

  • Be accountable for putting processes in place to ensure exceptional client service.

  • Perform business development activities including generating leads in the marketplace, expanding opportunities for existing clients, and preparing presentations and proposals for prospects.

  • Leverage technology to automate internal and client processes to improve efficiency.


Our ideal candidate is a certified public accountant (CPA) or is CPA eligible, with at least 5 years of experience. In addition, the role requires:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required, advanced degree a plus

  • CPA or equivalent work experience

  • Experience with M&A accounting is preferred

  • Demonstrated analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management, time management, written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional client service

  • Commitment to continuous learning

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
