Position: Client Services Analyst-- Contractor Specifications
Location: Rochester, NY
Duration: 6+ months

Client Services Analyst - Contractor Specifications
General description:
  • Contractors fulfilling this position work under the direction of the IT Client Services Manager and are responsible for helping ensuring a reliable, accessible and secure environment for IT hardware devices that reside in end users office areas.
  • They install, configure and maintain operating systems and applications and printer network connectivity within generally defined procedures and practices.
  • They troubleshoot and resolve operating systems, application and printer connectivity/integration issues and associated hardware failures. Perform related work as required.

Typical work activities:
  • Coordinates, administers and performs installation, configuration, decommission, troubleshooting and maintenance of operating system, software and hardware environments in conjunction with specific project related deployments or in relation to day-to-day end-user support;
  • Assists in the development and enforcement of environment configuration and deployment procedures, and practices;
  • Assists in evaluating and recommending IT solutions for use by City employees (e.g., desktop and laptop and tablet computing platforms, smartphones/PDAs and print hardware);
  • Assists in defining infrastructure and associated component processes and improvement opportunities;
  • Monitors computing environment for proper operation within established performance,
  • Function and availability expectations;
  • Communicates information to and between the user community and other IT resources;
  • Captures and records requests and resulting actions in the IT Service Management (ITSM) system as per IT policies and procedures;

Knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • Knowledge of desktop operating systems and affiliated software components, services, protocols and technologies;
  • Knowledge of office productivity applications (e.g. MS Office)
  • Ability to participate in a highly technical and collaborative environment;
  • Ability to function as a member of a team;
  • Ability to employ quality skill sets and experiences;
  • Ability to be resourceful, self-managed, and customer focused:
  • Ability to effectively coordinate and communicate with internal and external customers/vendors;
