Job Description

Digitas is looking for an Associate Director, Client Finance to join our team and support financial strategy and operations for a key client account! This is a highly visible role that sits at the intersection of finance, operations, and cross-agency partnership.

In this role, you will serve as a strategic finance partner to senior agency leadership and help drive financial rigor, operational excellence, and informed business decision-making for a key client account. You'll lead day-to-day financial management while building strong cross-functional relationships and mentoring junior team members.

The ideal candidate is a natural relationship-builder with a strong executive presence who is ambitious, confident, and eager to grow into a broader leadership role over time. They want to be in the room, contribute to high-level conversations, and confidently articulate a point of view backed by data and business understanding.

They are someone who learns quickly, sets a high bar for themselves, thrives in fast-paced environments, and values in-person collaboration. They are also deeply invested in developing and mentoring junior talent while fostering a high-performing, collaborative team culture.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a hybrid role based out of our Boston offices and will require onsite engagement an average of 3-4 days/week. All candidates should be local to the Boston metro and willing to commit to a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with cross-functional agency teams to drive and support operational and strategic finance goals for the agency and assigned account(s).
  • Lead forecasting, revenue tracking, profitability analysis, staffing alignment, and overall financial health across the assigned business.
  • Confidently participate in and lead senior-level conversations, presenting financial insights, risks, and recommendations clearly and effectively.
  • Build strong partnerships across account, project management, operations, and production teams, acting as a trusted advisor across functions.
  • Manage and mentor junior team members, fostering growth, accountability, and strong financial discipline across the team.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of professional experience in client finance, agency finance, consulting finance, FP&A, or other business-facing financial roles; experience in an advertising agency, consultancy, or professional services environment preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a similar field.
  • Deep experience analyzing financial information, synthesizing data, drawing out insights & implications, and developing insightful and actionable reporting, recommendations, and forecasts.
  • An understanding of client finance, corporate finance, GAAP, P&L management, and general FP&A best practices with an in-depth understanding of the different components of the delivery process including RFPs, contracts, pricing, profitability, margins, staffing, etc.
  • Prior experience with financial and reporting systems including SAP and Excel.
  • Strong executive presence with clear and persuasive verbal and written communication skills; articulate, confident, and comfortable presenting to and speaking with senior leadership and clients.
  • Prior experience managing, coaching, mentoring, training, developing, and elevating direct reports.
  • Highly proactive with a natural sense of urgency and an ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately within tight deadlines and constantly-evolving parameters, scope, and goals.
  • Flexible and adaptable with an ability to manage and drive success across multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
  • Highly collaborative but independently capable and comfortable with a high level of ownership, autonomy, and accountability.
