Job description

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) supports the growth of our sales pipeline and client relationships within the civil construction and renewable energy markets. This role focuses on lead generation, market research, CRM management, and proposal coordination, working closely with Business Development, Estimating, Operations, and Executive Leadership.

This is an excellent opportunity for students or early-career professionals who are interested in building a long-term career in business development, project development, or sales management within the construction and infrastructure industry.

Business Development & Lead Generation

  • Identify, research, and qualify new business opportunities, prospective clients, and project leads (including developers, EPCs, and utilities)
  • Build and maintain a robust project pipeline within the CRM system (Acumatica or similar)
  • Support outbound business development efforts, including cold outreach, email campaigns, and client onboarding
  • Track and monitor project opportunities, bid pipelines, and RFP timelines
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and pre-bid meetings to support lead generation and relationship-building

Client Relationship Management

  • Support relationship development with EPCs, subcontractors, and project partners
  • Maintain consistent communication and follow-ups with current and prospective clients
  • Document all client interactions, opportunities, and next steps within the CRM
  • Assist in building long-term partnerships that lead to repeat business

Proposal & Preconstruction Support

  • Coordinate with Estimating and Operations teams on proposals, RFP responses, and qualification packages
  • Assist with preparing proposals, presentations, and client-facing materials
  • Track bid deadlines, required deliverables, and submission requirements
  • Support internal coordination related to opportunities, projects, and contract negotiations

Market Intelligence & Research

  • Monitor project bidding platforms, public bid listings, and interconnection queues
  • Track competitor activity, pricing trends, and regional market conditions
  • Maintain and update databases of clients, subcontractors, and industry partners
  • Support the development of market intelligence tools and pipeline visibility reports

CRM, Reporting & Administrative Support

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in the CRM system
  • Track pipeline activity, opportunity stages, and engagement metrics
  • Prepare weekly reports, pipeline updates, and forecasting support materials
  • Assist with internal reporting and business development analytics
