Summary

The client is seeking a Business Development Director who thrives on generating new business. This role is ideal for a seasoned, self-motivated professional with extensive experience in the experiential space, a keen commercial acumen, and a relentless drive to succeed. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding the client base by identifying new opportunities, developing strategic relationships, and driving revenue growth across key verticals. This individual would be as comfortable in a pitch room as they would be mining prospects on LinkedIn or collaborating internally to bring ideas to life.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive new business strategy across target categories: technology, automotive, sports, and emerging sectors
  • Build and manage a pipeline of qualified leads through prospecting, networking, referrals, inbound inquiries, and agency partnerships
  • Cultivate and maintain senior-level relationships with client-side decision-makers (CMOs, event marketing and event brand directors, procurement)
  • Craft compelling, customized pitch materials and lead the end-to-end RFP and proposal process
  • Identify and pursue strategic partnerships with complementary agencies, platforms, or production vendors
  • Work closely with internal teams — including creative, strategy, and production — to align new opportunities with the agency's capabilities and ambitions
  • Represent the agency at industry events, conferences, and brand summits
  • Contribute to the development of thought leadership and marketing content that supports new business efforts
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or client leadership within experiential, brand activation, or integrated marketing agencies
  • A deep network of contacts across key sectors, especially tech and automotive
  • You are a natural relationship builder with strong emotional intelligence and presence
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a knack for storytelling and persuasion
  • Proven ability to prospect, qualify, and close deals. You know how to hunt, not just farm
  • Must be highly collaborative, you see yourself as a team player, not a lone wolf
  • Passion about this evolving role of brand experiences and in-tune with cultural trends
