Job description

Business Development Representative - Northwest Arkansas

Help Build the Future of Development Across Northwest Arkansas

CEI Engineering Associates, Inc. is looking for a relationship-driven, strategic Regional Business Development Representative to lead growth across multiple sectors in one of the most dynamic regions in the country.

As a national civil engineering firm with deep roots in Northwest Arkansas, we have built a reputation for delivering creative, community-centered solutions that shape the way people live, work, and play. In this role, you will be the face of CEI in the region - cultivating relationships, supporting sector leaders, and driving strategies that position us as the partner of choice for Private Commercial and Public Sector markets.

If you thrive on community engagement and are ready to help shape CEI's future growth, we want to meet you.

About CEI

Established in 1973, CEI has grown into a dynamic team of more than 190 professionals operating across the U.S., offering full-service Civil Engineering, Planning, Landscape Architecture, and Land Surveying. Our success is rooted in our commitment to people-hiring, developing, and empowering talented professionals who share our passion for innovation and community impact.

What You Will Do

You will serve as the bridge between CEI's technical project teams and regional partners. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Market Strategy & Pipeline Development: Identify and pursue business opportunities across Private Commercial (Retail, Fueling & Convenience, Residential) and Public Sector markets (Outdoor Recreation, Municipal Transportation, Sports Field Engineering).
  • Relationship Building: Develop long-term, strategic partnerships with municipal officials, developers, consultants, contractors, and decision-makers. Participate in industry organizations, conferences, and trade shows to elevate CEI's brand.
  • Internal Collaboration: Partner with sector leaders, project managers, and marketing staff to position CEI for upcoming pursuits. Support proposal development and ensure client expectations align with CEI's deliverables.
  • Data & Reporting: Track opportunities, manage client interactions, and monitor pipeline performance using our CRM system (Deltek Vantagepoint/Salesforce). Provide regular market insights and competitor analysis to leadership.

What You Bring

We are looking for a highly self-motivated, proactive connector who anticipates trends and builds lasting partnerships.

  • Experience: 5+ years of business development experience specifically within the civil engineering, land development, or municipal infrastructure sectors.
  • Local Knowledge: A strong understanding of the Northwest Arkansas market and an established professional network in the region is highly preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, confident public speaking, and a proven track record in pipeline development.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience managing and tracking opportunities through a CRM platform.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Requirements: A valid driver's license and the ability to travel regionally for meetings and events.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) matching
  • Flexible/Hybrid work schedule
  • Mileage reimbursement
  • Professional development and networking budgets
