Join the Sterling Bank team as a full time Private Client Associate (Personal Banker) in our Little Rock location!  Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm - no weekends!  We offer a competitive benefit package including medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance coverages, a 401k retirement plan with an employer match, along with paid holidays, vacation, and sick time.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities in this role include providing exceptional customer service while performing services such as opening new accounts, establishing direct deposit accounts, opening retirement accounts and assisting customers with queries concerning financial institution services. Development of new relationships and maintaining existing relationships. Answering questions on all services the bank provides.  Contributing to the growth of the bank by promoting and cross selling bank products and services. Offering support on the teller line by completing teller functions as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Maintain a positive, friendly, professional attitude and appearance.
  • Provides a complete range of customer services at the financial institution, including renewing and opening new accounts, explaining available financial institution products and services, and gathering customer information to service new and existing accounts.
  • Receives deposits and ensures that all accounts are properly processed in accordance with banking regulations.
  • Completes arrangements and documents for special services.
  • Carries out the financial institution’s client retention strategies.
  • Proactively prospects for new business.
  • Actively refers loan, and other Branch services to appropriate departments.
  • Assists supervisor in establishing objectives and plans for deposit growth and retention.
  • Cross train to be available to complete teller transactions and support the teller line.
  • Follows policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to work schedule.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Excellent customer service and leadership skills
  • In-depth knowledge of all bank deposit products and policies
  • Excellent sales, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Good computer and keyboarding skills
  • Good organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Mathematical skills
  • Knowledge of various federal regulations including Bank Secrecy Act, Community Reinvestment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Right to Financial Privacy Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Regulation E, and other roles and responsibilities relating to each Act.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

  • While performing the functions of this job, the employee is continuously required to talk or hear; regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms; required to stoop.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or finance or equivalent
  • 1-3 years prior cash handling and sales experience
  • 1-3 years prior banking experience, or similar work experience required
  • 3 years or more prior customer service experience preferred
